Well, it's complicated
My enthusiasm for Allure Homme Edition Blanche began two years ago. I ordered a sample back then. It was over 30 degrees, and I sprayed it on right before I went shopping.
A huge cloud of lemon, and once I arrived at the supermarket, poof, it was gone.
I was really disappointed and left it aside for a long time.
It only became interesting when I kept encountering similar fragrances and comparing them. Because with repeated testing, more and more nuances emerge through that lemon cloud that make this scent truly special.
Then came Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes, and my (amateur) nose thought, oh, I have to think of the Edition Blanche, but that one was somehow rounder, more elegant, better.
Then came L'Homme Ideal Platine Prive, which has very similar vibes for me. But that one doesn't quite measure up either. The Prive has a slightly outdated note in the drydown for me. Unfortunately, it lasts much, much longer on me than the Edition Blanche.
What can I say? The sample has run out, and the memory of that special magic that the fragrance unfolds just won't let me rest.
I was then lucky that someone was selling a bottle with a little bit left. It’s now in front of me; I sprayed it on 30 minutes ago. The lemon cloud is dissipating, and the incomparably fine aura of lemon, ginger, pepper, and powder is spreading just as wide as my blissful grin.
How sad that it is so fleeting, but how nice that it exists.

Dreamy Mediocrity
So far, I have always tried with great effort to squeeze everything into statements.
Now, my first attempt at a review of this fragrance.
I am an absolute beginner when it comes to scents. I have tried a lot. Only very few perfumes have left a lasting impression on me or even sparked enthusiasm.
My biggest enemy seems to be Ambroxan. As soon as a perfume contains a noticeable amount of Ambroxan, it burns and stings in my nose.
And as mentioned in the title, I have learned that a designer or even drugstore fragrance can excite me just as much as, for example, a Tom Ford or Roja.
About Azzaro Chrome Aqua:
I can only assess it on its own, as I unfortunately have not yet been able to test the other flankers. I acquired the bottle in the souk. Since it is 4 years old, I would rather not judge its longevity and sillage.
Azzaro Chrome Aqua has something of Acqua di Gio Profumo, Dsquared Green Wood, Costa Azzura plus fruity citrus notes.
It starts with mandarin and a spice from basil. For me, it’s a really great mix of sweetness, spice, and freshness, and it reminds me a lot of a lighter Profumo + sweetness. After about an hour, I suddenly had very strong memories of Green Wood and Costa Azzura. It somehow lies between them, munching on a fat mandarin.
And it totally impressed me, just the right amount of everything.
I hope it lasts throughout the day.
