They are similar, but completely different at the same time. Nouveau monde starts off more animalic than ombre nomade but after about 30-45 minutes, the cocoa really comes in and takes the edge off the animalic notes. I personally like this a bit more than ombre nomade, its easier to wear and not nearly as "suffocating".

The cocoa, vanilla and caramel help to cut through the oud and leather notes to make a surprisingly pleasant fragrance that can be worn in most occasions, just not to work..oud fragrances aren’t for office environments.

As the fragrance begins to dry down, the oud takes a far back seat and the leather, cocoa and sweeter notes come forward to balance out the fragrance and dial down the initial animalic blast. After a couple hours you start to notice that signature Louis Vuitton scent DNA that runs through nearly all of their men’s fragrances. If you’ve smelt a lot of them, you’ll know what I’m referring to. Performance is fantastic, no complaints in that department. Overall, i think this is a fantastic, undoubtedly masculine fragrance that will appeal to most fragrance collectors. I actually think it’s well worth the money, considering the quality of ingredients that are being used.

This is something i love the smell of, but wouldn’t want to smell like…if that makes sense.

To my nose, it’s pure nostalgia. It reminds me of when i was a kid and i would go to the playground in the summer. It smells like the wood chips in the play areas as they would heat up in the sun.

I don’t get any leather, whatsoever. I don’t know why this is even labled as a leather fragrance. The oud in here isn’t dirty or animalic either, it just adds a darkness and a smokiness. I don’t really know what situation it would be appropriate to wear this in, it’s too polarizing and definitely will not be appealing to most noses. Maybe a casual night out with friends in the fall?….definitely not office safe and definitely not for the bars if you want to meet women lol. I feel like this is more of a shelf piece for collectors that you just smell every once in a while.

I think I was given a bad sample or a sample of a different fragrance, because my full bottle I received yesterday is significantly stronger and more potent than the sample was.

Longevity is very, very good at 8 to 9 hours, with a skin sent lasting almost 24 hours. Projection is moderate for the first couple hours before it becomes slightly closer afterwards. The sillage this stuff leaves is gorgeous, it leaves a beautiful scent trail where you’ve been.

So now the big question, is this better than Aventus? Yes and no. Post 2017? Abso-fucking-lutely, pre-2017? I don’t think so. Before 2017, Aventus still had good staying power and that smoke we all came to love that unfortunately it’s completely gone now. In no way, shape or form, would I recommend buying any current batch of Aventus when this is available. It is objectively a better fragrance in every single way. This is also much better than any version of CDNIM, emperor extrait is worth the extra money.

Something about this smells off on my skin, almost like a sour, body odor smell. It's like a worse version of profondo. It's very pungent and sharp. Performance is good though, which is it's one redeeming quality for me. Luckily I got a sample for free, saved me money.

i'll stick with the original and the profumo which are still the best two, Unfortunately, the edt has atrocious performance.

Opens up beautifully…spicy from the cardamom, some vanilla, some woods. Stays like that for about an hour. You may buy a bottle based on that first hour, then get home and be pretty damn disappointed with whats left on your skin.

It begins to dry down to something that smells very feminine, synthetic, chemically, cloying and almost like scented body lotion. Very, very disappointing considering how beautiful the opening is.

I would skip this, and save your money, go with a different flanker in the line.
