Adjustments

Should I cry about vintages, long lost perfumes, time gone by? Not my style.

Should I protest against strict regulations that could kill some of the best perfumes? A lost cause. Too large a topic to elaborate, and this is not a political Forum.

What is left? Self help. Just choose from the truly vast array of offerings in the perfume market, with new ones coming out every day, the best the field has to offer.

Just yesterday, as I was following the current discussions about petitions and efforts to make an impact and incite change, I had obtained the reformulated "Maja" by Myrurgia. After the reformulation, only a meek rendition is left, a shadow of the former. So should I now hang the head? Maybe. With the original "Maja" were fond memories attached.

Then I approached my stash of a variety of perfumes. Among those is "Chypre Palatin" by MDCI Paris. What a scent! A pure delight to the nose! Was it reformulated from something even better or more intense? I don't know, nor do I care. What is in front of me is a beautiful perfume. And what's more, it smells somehow similar to the "Maja" soaps I so loved. Not exactly like "Maja" Eau de Cologne, but close, and actually better. Yes, better.

The point I am trying to make is that there are options, there are choices, there are plenty of beautiful scents.
