Madison Avenue
Winter in New York City. Between the skyscrapers of Madison Avenue, the snowflakes reflect in the glittering facades of the shop windows. A woman, wrapped in a short black fur jacket, a casual Marc Jacobs bag in hand, her blonde hair perfectly styled despite the wind, walks purposefully down the street. Perhaps she is on her way to an exhibition opening in Soho or meeting friends for an aperitif at a bar. A true New Yorker. As we stop at the traffic light next to each other, I am suddenly enveloped by an incredibly creamy, sweet, and simultaneously woody cloud of fragrance. As if she has just returned from vacation and still carries the scent of sunshine, luxurious hotel lobbies, and the finest sunscreen with her. I am fascinated and can focus on nothing else but this scent.

She seems to be heading the same way as us, also steering towards Fifth Avenue and Rockefeller Center. With each block we walk together, the fragrance unfolds more. I perceive white flowers, foremost the enchanting sweetness of jasmine, paired with a beautiful lily note. Beneath it lies a bright, radiant vanilla note. Heavy yet luminous, unique and incredibly elegant.

That winter evening in New York was indeed the first time I asked a complete stranger on the street about her fragrance. A bit surprised but friendly, she revealed to me: Le Labo Lys 41. Since I unfortunately do not have the budget of a New York It Girl, I quickly pushed it into the category of "just dream, but better to forget it quickly." A bit wistfully, I sprayed myself at all the New York department stores at the Le Labo counter and decided to forget the scent once back in Germany. Which was not difficult since it was nowhere to be tested.

So I was all the more delighted when my boyfriend gifted me the fragrance for my birthday six months later. And this, despite the fact that I hadn't mentioned it even once since then! But he also found the scent simply stunning and said that I needed it… (what does a true perfume lover like to hear more than that ;)) Since then, the perfume has been very beloved by me; I reach for nothing else on special occasions because it is simply addictive - and probably also because I associate it with such beautiful vacation memories. The longevity and sillage are, by the way, far above average, which also puts the price into perspective.

An Italian Love Story
Signorina Rossini hurries across the cathedral square to the gallery. "Always these tourists," she thinks, and finally pushes her way through the entrance into the magnificent passage. Cream-colored blouse, white silk trousers, Hermès bag, and all the family heirlooms on her wrist - wherever she goes, a grand entrance is always assured. She casually pushes her large sunglasses into her hair as she reaches the restaurant. A quick glance in the entrance mirror - a swift touch-up of her lips and another spritz of Valentino Donna. The slightly citrusy bergamot is a welcome refreshment on this warm summer day. The soft, creamy rose notes get caught in her hair, and she knows that by dessert, an alluring, exciting wild leather note will join the warm vanilla. Even tomorrow morning, when the delicate floral freshness has already faded, she will still be surrounded by this creamy-powdery aura.

She glances into the crowded restaurant - a cacophony of voices, loud, laughing groups, businessmen in the finest Italian suits, freshly in love couples. An abundance of delicious food and even better wine. Then she spots her husband - Giuseppe is already sitting at the best table in the restaurant. No wonder, they were supposed to meet 40 minutes ago. But she knows she doesn't need to hurry. He will wait, he will always wait for her. She walks up to him and stops in front of him. He suddenly smiles, lifts his head, and looks at her. He stands up and leans in to give her a kiss. "Sei bellissima," he whispers to her. "I already knew you were here before I saw you. As soon as you are near, it smells like paradise on earth."

The One
On a warm June night, a young woman in a peach-colored dress stands on a rooftop terrace - a glass of Bellini in her hand, a handsome man by her side, and the master plan for life in her mind. She is confident, mysterious, beautiful. A small gust of wind ruffles her hair, and you can sense her fragrance. She wears - how could it be otherwise - Coco Mademoiselle. If there is one perfect scent for me, it is Coco Mademoiselle. Initially, it has a fresh-fruity sparkling start that quickly becomes incredibly feminine and floral. It envelops me endlessly with its light vanilla creaminess, like a soft cashmere blanket. Incredibly elegant, yet simultaneously young and fresh. Feminine, sensual, floral, delicious. I wear it for really all occasions - whether it's a university day, a date, a family dinner, or an evening event. Although it seems to be so popular and widespread, I am always approached about what a wonderful fragrance it is! I have never received so many compliments for any other scent, even though that doesn't really matter to me anyway. I wear a fragrance because it gives me a good feeling, makes me happy when I catch a whiff of it throughout the day, and I can identify with it. And that is definitely the case with CM.

Paris at Dawn
In the early dawn, when the shadows of the night have not yet fully faded and the world still holds onto its misty veil for a little while longer, Paris is at its most enchanting. Softened by the twilight, enveloped in a fresh, comforting scent of freedom - the day can bring anything, that is its promise. A young woman scurries out of an entrance, her heels clicking on the street, just barely one can see her pale pink dress and the brunette tips of her hair disappear around a street corner. The flower stalls of the Marché aux Fleurs are quickly being set up, the day can begin.
All of this is beautifully, harmoniously, and elegantly captured by this fragrance. It is sweet, like the blossoms of the magnificent bouquets at the market, but also fresh like the water and their stems. As powdery as the dust of Paris' streets and as clear as the sun slowly rising over the Seine.
For many years, my absolute favorite and signature scent, which will forever stay with me!
