Of dark spiced chocolate, warm cashmere blankets & the anticipation of winter
This fragrance was one of MY discoveries of 2021!
I had been searching for a not-too-sweet chocolate scent that also features spices and noble woods. The chocolate should remind me more of high-quality cocoa than of pralines and definitely not come across as "sticky".
Unexpectedly, I came across this candidate while trying a discovery set from the house "Une Nuit a Bali". I was actually looking forward to the more floral scents, as I was at that time searching for an addition to my fragrance wardrobe for spring...
And then you, Suma.
Sprayed on my wrist, wide eyes, heart racing (really, with wonderful first scent impressions, my heart literally skips a beat ;) ).
Bitter-dark chocolate, gentle spices - and the promise that there's much more to come.
Over the next approximately 6 hours, I keep sniffing my wrist and have to smile every time. The scent deepens and becomes a bit earthy (Hello, Patchouli!), while I already strongly perceive the vanilla/almond notes of the tonka bean in the base.
A constant companion are also the fine wood nuances, which prevent the fragrance from becoming one-dimensional or too gourmand at any point.
Dreamy!
And now the RIGHT season has finally arrived to wear it.
During an autumn walk, snuggled in a cashmere scarf (which still smells like Suma for at least two days afterwards).
Or on a cozy Sunday morning, with a cup of milk coffee with cinnamon, and a good book. ;)
Yes, autumn can stay!

Of Snowy Forests, Warming Vanilla & Evenings by the Fireplace
How long have I searched for IT - the perfect vanilla scent.
Last winter, I found it with "Eau Duelle".
Although "perfect" is certainly a big word.
To be precise, I should add: Perfect for me and my skin, perfect for everyday life in the cooler season, perfect for my love of spicy-warm scents with a special twist.
When I spray "Eau Duelle", I immediately see a specific image in my mind: That of a lightly snow-covered coniferous forest at dusk.
The air is fresh, and you can distinctly smell the resin of the trees.
Not far away is a cabin that we rented for the weekend, where we have already stacked wood in the fireplace before our evening walk.
One last look at the quiet winter world - then we slowly head back.
Warm light spills from the windows, everything looks inviting.
The quickly ignited fire in the fireplace spreads a pleasant smoky note.
It mingles with the scent of a real vanilla pod, which we use to enhance our winemaker's mulled wine.
This olfactory image evokes a vivid feeling of coziness and security in me, which I love to have around me every day in cold temperatures.
"Eau Duelle" is a transparent yet present scent.
One with strength, without being overwhelming.
The sillage of the Eau de Toilette is rather subtle, making it absolutely suitable for everyday wear.
I personally perceive the scent on me for about six hours.
But when I come home in the evening and snuggle up in the comfortable armchair with a tea and a good book, I often add two more sprays - and begin the evening with a mental trip to my familiar winter forest!

Of Silk Road Fruits, Bright Tobacco & the Fascination of the Exotic
"Come a little bit closer, you're my kind of guy.."
...I want to softly hum when I spray this beautiful gourmand fragrance.
The first impression is important, as we know - and in this case, it is particularly interesting.
Warm and spicy. A globetrotter who surely has a lot to tell.
Right from the start, it is enveloped in a pleasant diffuse fruity note - not sour, but sweet and somewhat dusty. A high-quality dried stone fruit that may have made its way from a Silk Road bazaar to cool Europe, but still carries a bit of sunshine and, above all, a lot of sweetness within.
The more time you spend together, the more the fascination grows.
The globetrotter proves to be a conversation partner with depth!
Bitter chocolatey patchouli notes and freshly cut cedar mix with the sweetness of the first impression. And although I am not really a fan of smoking: In this case, the scent of bright tobacco, casually tossed like cigarettes on the table, adds to the magic of the encounter.
Only after about 7 hours do we slowly say goodbye to each other.
As I walk through the evening streets on my way home, I still perceive a hint of warmth and the sweet spice of tonka bean around me.
What a rewarding encounter!

Of Fresh Citrus, Mysterious Blooms & the Best Tea in the World
"Long-lasting summer scent"... under this slogan, I set out in spring.
I found Wulong Cha from the wonderful house of Nishane. I must say that I am an exceptionally difficult "freshie" customer - because until now, I have always kept a wide berth from citrus scents. Too often, I perceived a sharp cologne character when sampling, and I just couldn't find myself in them at all.
But THIS candidate: That's my cup of Tea! ;)
The citrus notes here are combined with a very fine green or perhaps even the more noble white tea. Yes, there are similarities with well-known tea scent classics - but Nishane elevates this composition to a new level.
In the fresh citrus and bitter tea notes, there is also a subtle woodiness (like freshly sharpened pencils) and, to my great delight, a very delicate floral component.
In my mind's eye, the image of an elegantly shaped glass teapot emerges, in which a blooming tea flower is floating...
Do you know these little wonders?
Hidden within a ball of tea leaves is a flower that slowly opens when you pour hot water over the ball.
Exactly the same feeling of fascination and quiet observant contemplation is awakened in me by Wulong Cha. A scent that refreshes and calms at the same time - and which unfolds more beautifully the more time you give it. And you have that time. Because the scent in extrait de parfum concentration actually accompanies me for a full 8 hours, with a subtle but still noticeable sillage.
Wonderful!

A Very Special Summer Fragrance
I spontaneously bought "Jardin sur la Lagune" before our summer vacation.
Actually, I'm not the type to make impulse purchases when it comes to fragrances - but what wafted from the bottle already put me in a holiday mood before we even arrived at our destination.
In fact, I had been on the lookout for a lovely salty-aquatic yet floral scent for quite some time.
In the case of "Jardin sur la Lagune," this feat has been very well accomplished for my nose!
I detect gentle white flowers, subtle greenery, dry wood, and - very prominent yet not biting - sea saltiness.
The overall impression is surprisingly warm and "spicy" in a diffuse way.
In contrast to the other fragrances in the Jardin series (I also own and love Un Jardin sur le Toit), the Lagoon Garden does not have any fruity or herb-fresh notes for me.
However, I do not perceive this as negative in any way, but rather as a welcome addition to a beautiful collection.
And one thing connects "Un Jardin sur la Lagune" with its siblings: Although it is an Eau de Toilette concentration, the scent lasts fantastically on my skin!
It accompanies me for about 6-7 hours and is also perceived quite positively and for a long time by my (very critical) surroundings. :)
All in all: I am very happy to be able to add such a beautiful summer fragrance to my collection!
