a perfect clone
A better alternative to a lot of the "Aventus Clones" on the market. The Notes? Exactly the same as the OG. The Pineapple in this one isn't as prominent as I wanted it to be, but the beautiful bergamont and apple accord makes up for it IMO. It also has a SMOOTH transition from opening to dry-down, nothing harsh and overly disturbing to the nose. Oh yeah, and the bottle is gorgeousBiggest con with AFSS, as many mentioned here is the longevity, you'd be lucky to break past 5 hours if even 4.

Although Afnan Supremacy Silver is a good perfume dupe, ONLY consider buying a bottle if you do not have any other clone in your collection. Even in 2020, better chances you can get a better clone elsewhere to offer better performance.

Green and sophisticated
Vert D'Encens is very similar to what I remember Imaginary Authors' Cape Heartache smells like, except you replace the strawberry with whatever the sweet note in Vert D'Encens is (heliotrope?).

I found the strawberry note in Cape Heartache far too synthetic and I get a tiny bit of that with Vert D'Ecens, but I am really digging this juice nonetheless and will likely buy a full bottle when I can get my hands on it.

Vert D'Encens starts off far more green to my nose than Vert Des Bois. After a short period the green notes mellow out and you are left with a incense, woods, and the sweet note.

A really delicious scent. Not as heavy on the incense and green notes as you would expect given the name. This might disappoint some people, but I think this makes Vert D'Encens wearable year round.

Disappointment
I'll be happy when people move beyond this pillar and the unethical marketing practices of Dior. Note wise this had great potential but the mix is all wrong. No, it's not bad. It's just pleasant and I emphasize just pleasant. It is a jack of all trades and master of none. Sell a fragrance with Johnny Depp's face on it and offer incentives to every fragrance YouTuber out there and Sauvage managed to change the industry for the worst. The cost cutting on the actual notes compared to the high quality bottle and magnetic cap is comical. What the hell am I smelling at this price point? It's an unrefined mess that dries down and reminds me of a deodorant stick. I'm just glad the suckers buy this for only it's headache inducing performance. Keep those consumers away from the good fragrances. It's my second chance long term testing this DNA and I tested the EDP before. It's the same poor blend of cheap aroma chemicals and deodorant drydown I got from the EDP. I'm glad I've never bought a Dior product before. Fahrenheit parfum is the only good thing they've done but it's only available in France. If you love perfume, pass on this French branded Axe body spray.

Classic
The classic aquatic fragrance. To me, this was the maximum standard for the nineties and it began my fragrance curiosity as a young boy. Very clean smell, very refreshing to wear, and a crowd pleaser. Sadly, this has been both a victim of its own success and doesn't perform like it did. It's iconic, it was a heavy hitter for Giorgio Armani and the perfumers, but I'd say just get it for your own collection since its easily available, but don't pay retail price for it.

If you want the next best thing in the Acqua di Gio line, definitely go for Profumo or Profondo. Give them a shot, choose the one you think will fit you best.

Exceptional but discontinued
When I first received a decant, I wasn't impressed by L'Homme Intense at all. Trying it alongside the Dior Homme Intense and Valentino Uomo Intense, I thought it was easily the worst version of the iris-based men's fragrances. After spending more time with it, not only it has become my favorite, it's also a signature scent. I've come to appreciate it's smell and versatility.

Besides the iris I pick up the salty amber the most, an interesting and unique combination to my nose. After an hour or so, the leather and tonka bean come into play. A warm, sexy yet easy to wear scent, something that could be dressed up or down. Works with tuxedo as well as it does with a leather jacket. Prada L'Homme Intense will forever remain in my collection, as long as I can keep a bottle. If this is discontinued, it's a real shame, as this is a modern-day classic. 10/10
