Daughter of L'Air du Temps and Fidji
Oh..I still had this (bought online maybe six or seven years ago, so surely not the most early, vintage one; bottle is same as pictured on this page). It sat somewhere in the back of my closet and I had forgotten all about it because "L'Air du Temps (Eau de Parfum) | Nina Ricci" became one of my favourite (if not my favourite) perfumes.
Sprayed this on just now before taking a shower to smell it again after a long, long time out of curiosity and to decide if I'll wear this today (after my shower:-)). Well, it sure is a hidden treasure.
I'm sure the resemblance to L'Air du Temps is about how the carnation in here behaves: It has that same 'tingeling' quality which I love so much in L'Air du Temps and that same ability to create those lovely wafts of perfume when moving around or when biking in a summer's breeze.
But also "Fidji (2003) (Eau de Toilette) | Guy Laroche" comes to mind because of that more 'cologne-like', more 'zesty' twist.
When comparing it to L'Air du Temps, it has more resemblance to the edt than to the edp by the way, maybe because it is a bit less 'perfume-y'; comparing it to Fidji, on the other hand, it has more similarity to it's edp (a bit more warm than the edt).
So if you can't decide on which one you like best: L'Air du Temps or Fidji, this is a 'must-try', it can be bought for a (wind) song online.
It says to be a 'cologne' but sillage and longevity are certainly as those of an EDT.
It's a pitty the box is not shown here, lovely box with birds printed on it :-)

A quality Mimosa
I had sprayed some on the back of my hand today and, having "Belle de Grasse | Fragonard", I sprayed that one on my other hand.
They are very different, both are true mimosa's, but "Mimosa Tanneron | Perris Monte Carlo" smells much more perfume-y and classy, Belle de Grasse smells a bit musty, dusty, linear and dull on my skin and I don't like that at all while I love Mimosa Tanneron. It's somehow more appropiate for summer too I can imagine, it is sweet in a fresh way, after dry down that is....but I doubt if longevity and sillage are good enough to justify the high price.

A dupe, a good one..(hate to say it)
Okay, so just for fun because I really don't like the concept of 'dupes', I think all credits should go to the nose that created the 'real' perfume and not to someone creating a dupe.
On the other hand...I do like it when people on a low budget are able to buy a good perfume with everything so hard and expensive nowadays, so....I don't know, let's say I'm just a bit ambivalent about the whole idea.
Anyway, I needed some inexpensive 'fun-presents' for a bingo-party in the home for the elderly where I work as a welfare worker.
I stumbled upon this, the bottle already revealed that it should smell like: "For Her (Eau de Parfum) | Narciso Rodriguez": an opaque pink bottle (as on the picture above) and also the name ('D'Elle') made it needless to guess what this should smell like.
There was a tester in front of the box with all the (unsealed) boxes in it and I sprayed some on the back of my hand. And...I hate to say it, but..this is exactly Narcisso Rodriguez for her EDP, where it concerns the scent, the longevity and sillage. They really nailed it!
So that is why I rate this so highly, not because I like it, I don't like the original either (for myself that is...I do like it on others), but because it really is a very good dupe!!
So if you - like me - need an inexpensive present just for fun (like a bingo) and which could make someone very happy or if you're on a low budget and would love to have this scent, this is a very good buy.
It is only about 6 euro's!

Too heavy on the neroli for me
On my skin this is too heavy on the orange blossom/neroli. I had it in the past and it performed like a beast!
Now neroli always is very dominant with my skin chemistry for some reason. In "24, Faubourg (Eau de Parfum) | Hermès" for instance, I hardly get the hyacinth, but I foremost get the orange blossom.
Same with "Gelsomini di Capri (Eau de Parfum) | Carthusia" : more orange blossom than jasmine where it should be a jasmine forward perfume. I love that one though because it is much softer, more creamy and less linear than the orange blossom in Light Blue forever which I found cloying and almost suffocating.

Rose is a rose is a rose...
'Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose
Loveliness extreme.
Extra gaiters,
Loveliness extreme.
Sweetest ice-cream
Pages ages page ages page ages' (by Gertrude Stein)..

I find this poem, that actually is saying that things 'are what they are' very appropriate for this beautyful perfume although the name of the perfume is based on other literature.
Although the opening will not tell you about a rose right away, when being patient, you will find out: This IS a rose...
I had sprayed some on the back of my hand in the perfumery, couldn't imagine this was a rose forward scent (like I had read from reviews), went on sniffing other perfumes, forgot about it, came outside and smelled this beautyful, somehow ozonic (the aldehydes I guess) smelling rose!
I'm not someone to hunt down rose-scents, always considered myself as someone who did not like rose-scents, but here I was mesmerized by this scent!
When I came home, I found myself sniffing my hand, now finding a juicy rose that almost smelled like fruit (without it being gourmand), but still...it WAS a rose, but so juicy!
It was asif the perfume was saying: "So you don't like rose-scents? I'll teach you how to LOVE rose-scents!" and back to the store I went, buying a bottle.

Like I said, the opening is not rose-y at all, I don't know what I smell in the opening, certainly not bad, but peculiar, especially when you expect a rose; those are probably the more green listed topnotes and it actually takes quite a while before the rose takes center stage ('Loveliness extreme').
Then those aldehydes lift the rose, leaving a wonderful sillage, with something cool surrounding it ('Sweetest ice-cream') untill the drydown leaves you with a more sweet balsamic feel that will last forever ('Pages ages page ages page ages').

So if you are thinking of testing this perfume, I really advice you to be patient and wait at least half an hour before judging it. I never had a perfume with a drydown, so different from the opening.
