Perfect for me
My first contact with Oud Wood was at Munich Airport. To bridge the waiting time until my return flight after a business appointment, I was looking for a new perfume in the Duty Free Shop, but at that time I was only working in the designer area and thought Dsquared Wood was the best.

When I was approached, I asked for a woody scent and was promptly presented with Oud Wood as my first fragrance. It wasn't just love at first sight, but it beguiled me the whole flight back and the next day. Of course I did not buy it, the price was much too high.

But the good memory remained. 2 years later, I was with my wife in Nuremberg at the Breuninger and suddenly stood in front of the Private Blend row. Immediately I applied Oud Wood again and we were both enthusiastic again. But the price stopped me again.

Again 2 years later and richer in perfume experience (DS Durga, Lalique, Wiener Blut) :
Since 1 week I have my first 30 ml filling at home. Actually I wanted to give it up for special occasions, exactly these occasions have taken place: I quit my job after more than 11 years, with some fear and uncertainty about the course of events- with Oud Wood you go into the conversation confidently and feel self-confident and have the feeling that you can literally smell good. And that all day long, top Sillage without annoying yourself or others.

Of course I wore it to the signing of the contract for the new job and damn it I will wear it the first day :)
So a good scent can really influence the mood and appearance. I can already say that I will wear exactly this fragrance on all festive, important, beautiful and sad occasions. I can't imagine anyone else.
Almost everything has been said about the fragrance itself. I experience durability and silage as very, very good and pleasant, after all, it lasts in summery temperatures and the mentioned stressful phases from 6 in the morning until the next morning.

The only question is, after this, will I buy 100 milliliters or more..

Holiday reminder
I bought that perfume in Como on a hot July day. Something appealed to me very much at that time, the sweetness combined with a little bit of wood fit perfectly to the attitude towards life at Lake Como.
Since then, I have been associating the fragrance very much with Italy and summer, so it is always a pleasure to be brought out in such situations. It is definitely long-lasting with me.
Without vacation bias, he'd probably get a point deduction

More sweetness than smoke
First of all:
I love smoky scents, like Aesop Hwyl or Mississippi Medicine. The description and the bottle made me very curious and so I bought a small bottling in the souk

Now I'm glad it was just this small amount. The smoke is there at the beginning, but not dominant. The smoke note is pleasant and actually reminds of a burning campfire (whereas other scents often remind more of cold smoke and ashes). Immediately, however, the fruity and vanilla sweetness is noticeable, which then gains the upper hand and never fades away.
I find the scent very pleasant and see it more with women (my wife thinks so too), for me it unfortunately does not fulfil the expectation. Probably I got too much used to it after years of Islay Whisky consumption..
