Dior... that was an absurdity.

After finding out about this release at the beginning of the year, I was incredibly excited. Oh, what am I saying. After reading about a strawberry note and a release in connection with Miss Dior, I was completely over the moon!!!

!!!!!

A few words on my own behalf:
The Miss Dior Cherie version from 2005, its flankers and new releases up to and including the EDP version from 2017 have inspired me all these years. For me, it all came together:

First and foremost the advertising campaign,

I've always thought Nathalie Portman was incredibly pretty - for me, she was a perfect match for the character of the fragrance, this typical advertising illusion of a world of luxury and everything that went with it.

The bottles, always classically beautiful, very well made. - I really miss the metal bow and the heavy glass that sits comfortably in the hand -

They have always been quite sweet, fruity, somehow cheeky, playful, but always classic and stylish. From flanker to flanker, sometimes more, sometimes a little less ...FRESH.
In my eyes, they had a dynamic, a beginning and an end that fitted in; a fragrance progression that I could identify with.

I always perceived something girlish or Lolita-like in the DNA. But it didn't bother me. If you like, the princess in me felt addressed and happily served.

in 2017, the character of the eau de parfum was already very much rejuvenated in my eyes due to its suddenly increased sugar content and a certain heaviness. So the Miss Dior version from 2012, which had the strongest character for me to date, had to go. ... a great, great pity...

I don't even want to go into the 2021 version any further.

Unbelievable.

Personally, I have high hopes that one day an 'Eau Fraiche' or 'L'eau' in the range will be released, which is also wearable again for over-30 girls like me. I simply can't cope with these new releases since 2021. It's an unbelievable shame that nowadays almost everything is filled with sugar and/or vanilla without any sense or character. I like sweet fragrances, that's not how it is! No one should be judged! However, these fragrances have one thing in common: heart and character. And a development that at the end of the day suits a normal housewife and mother of adolescents and possibly small children, who has saved the world about 100 times during the day, performed 20 miracles on the side or simply chased children and husband to school or work, but then at some point in the evening slouches on the sofa in baggy trousers and watches some dance show with some celebrity cast. (....Nathalie Portman is probably not one of them.)
I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Unfortunately, this fragrance is not wearable for me, neither during the day nor in the evening.

Quintessence:

In my opinion, the perfume has a decent opening. After all, it is a more concentrated version of the 'original fragrance' anyway. There is even a hint of freshness. However, this only lasts for a short time. I smell a lovely strawberry and other sweet fruits. There is also something citrusy. I think I detect jasmine, but the floral notes don't really come to the fore or take center stage. Of all things, I think that's a shame.
I was really looking forward to the jasmine in combination with the strawberry.

Nevertheless, at this point I can draw parallels with Coco Mademoiselle or Miss Dior from 2012. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop there. The dry down is completely disastrous for me. Too much of everything! From now on, the composition, which is not really coherent for me, fails completely. The strawberry and jasmine notes recede very far into the background and the base dominates everything.

I got a headache for the first time in my career.

It got stronger and stronger instead of fading out more calmly and graciously after a few hours: Too dark old-man patch, too much amber-fruity but above all MUCH too sweet-woody-mossy-earthy and all mixed up in an endless loop.
I am convinced that the rudder could have been turned with a significantly weakened sweetness.
So I ask myself one question: Why only?!!! Why this way?!!!
Where is the courage to innovate?!!!! It must be possible to break the circle at some point. :-(

I'm really very sad about this.

My conclusion:

I no longer own it. My last attempt at wearing it failed miserably, I had to take a shower and wash it off after a few hours of wearing it, which was only moderately successful. The durability is really very good!
However, after this experience, I immediately realized one thing:

Dior, that was probably...

Unding number 2.

Please, please be gracious with me. This was my first in-depth review.
