Oasis of Happiness
Right off the bat: No. 3 of the Comptoir de Senteurs Collection has made me happy! It really doesn't deserve that I - as a "Parfumo novice" - comment on it first:

Bushman’s Candle (Sarcocaulon crassicaule or Monsonia crassicaule) is a succulent steppe plant from Namibia. Its essential oil is said to smell similar to frankincense. Additionally, the second designated main ingredient is frankincense from Yemen: Sounds like a lot of frankincense, maybe too much? - No:

Gentle frankincense, softly embedded in bitter oranges and dry flowers. From the very beginning without many transformations: Wonderful hours of leisure and tranquility - in a sunny oasis! I sit or lie or stroll meditatively through the oasis, in the shade of a shimmering orange grove. Surrounding me are dry and softly scented steppe flowering plants, and from the surrounding desert, a warm wind brings mild resinous wood and frankincense aromas. I begin to float and am happy - for about 4-6 hours, then the dreamy mirage bids farewell and a barely perceptible sweet-woody afterglow remains. Or I spray again and the oasis happiness begins anew….

A soft, warm, dry, sunny frankincense scent that does not scratch. A meditative feel-good fragrance. Not "church frankincense." Unisex or perhaps a bit more masculine. Suitable for all seasons (warming in winter, cooling in summer) and for many occasions: Leisure hours during the day and evening as well as fieldwork, office, or practice (probably stress-reducing). I will try not to use it too often to avoid becoming desensitized.

Unusually simple bottle made of apothecary glass with a screw cap; from this, a 15ml spray bottle, whose mechanism feels high-quality, can be refilled with a small glass funnel. An unusual but practical and high-quality presentation that makes the fragrance the main character. I like it a lot.

Smoky Caramel Candy
At first glance easily accessible, this scent is nonetheless hard to describe. Perhaps like this: On a very sunny, warm day, I sit (in the steppe or on a deserted alpine meadow) in front of a cabin, from which a light fragrance of old, sun-warmed wood and hay emanates. Brought along for a hiking break, I lie on an old bench that also smells of sun and old wood, with a cup of coffee without sugar, a few hazelnuts, and two melting caramel candies. A warm, bittersweet scent, where the caramel sweetness occasionally becomes too prominent, but then gives space to the mild smoky wood-hay aroma to suggest silence and expansiveness.

I can also relate well to the breakfast room association of Terra - although without the licorice. There are hours when I really enjoy all of this! My wife, who likes coffee, enjoys this scent on me.

Forest Edge and Flower Meadow
It has rained. Behind me the forest edge. In front of me, the sunlight sparkles on the damp, colorful flower meadow and a fresh, herbaceous scent rises. Somewhere further away under a blue sky, a garden, old, blooming apple trees, and a wonderfully lush herb bed. Eagerly, I look forward to the day.

Indeed, the soft, fresh scent is uplifting! After three to four hours, it becomes a bit soapy (a hint of green coriander, cedar?), still very clean, but not quite as green anymore.

I don’t associate it with lovage, soup, and the kitchen - but rather a picnic in the green: The air is pleasantly cool, the sun warms, the baguette and butter are fresh, and the birds are chirping.

The scent is not intrusive. I would love to have it on my wife just as much as on myself.

A Glass of Tea with Mint
Fresh, spicy Nana mint in a glass of black tea - a cool desert breeze over the oasis. A pick-me-up with depth, a - perhaps a touch too invigorating - freshness that lasts, but not so long that it becomes annoying. A new, modern interpretation of a fresh chypre perhaps? A fragrance for a shimmering sunny morning, for discovering a new day! Or a fragrance for a bright, airy summer evening that can last a few more hours until the stars twinkle? Both - a scent that cools and warms at the same time. A fragrance not for every day, but one for a special day! Or even for a day that could use some brightening. Sometimes a bit too “loud” for me. Still: Very beautiful!
