There's nothing to see here. Please move along
This fragrance has been floating around the internet for the last few years, as in my perception, very few have. It has now been sold so many times and can be found in almost every men's collection. Led by the big perfume minfluencers in the form of Jeremy or Gent Scents ect, it has been sold almost everywhere as the classic men's fragrance and has been one of the most popular fragrances ever since, which certainly makes it uninteresting to many. Unique is something else, anyway. Extravagant is also something else and there are clearly more complicated, elaborate and luxurious fragrances on this planet. It's best to sell the fragrance again and look for something else that's perhaps not so hackneyed and that will make you stand out more. It's best not to talk about it anymore and let the grass grow over it. Here there is fortunately the souk, where you can sell it comfortably at fair prices.
Best to the user Roadrunner, because as the foxes among you could surely guess from the above rating, I love this fragrance. :-)

Anyway, it does not bother me at all that he is so popular, because I can understand that 100%. I've been wearing it for 2 years now and just love everything about it. I had originally fallen in love with the opening of the Eau de Toiletten at the big D. That pink pepper, bergamot and that slight tart, peppery background noise has my synapses exploding with joy. The Eau de Parfum came as a sample directly afterwards, because I really wanted to test it, especially with regard to the performance. I should know the smell, I thought. There, too, I was wrong. The Eau de Parfum is sweeter, more sensual, that background noise is gone. Vanilla and tonka bean must have found the right satellite settings here. Sandalwood and the other woody notes round out the sharp edges of the eau de toilette here, making it a more harmonious scent overall than its bolder brother.

There are also differences here in terms of performance. Due to the sweetness of the heart and base notes, the EdP lasts a little longer, although this is not a huge difference here. He acts more elegant and potent than the EdT and that's what finally made him my signature fragrance. This gentleman here goes just always and everywhere. In summer, in winter, on a date, while shopping, at the job interview, because he is very restrained and knows how to please. The reactions of the women have almost always been the same. From "oh, you smell good" to light lip nibbling to melting eye rolls, everything has been there so far.

Here, the Mr. Polge has created an insanely easy to love, sensual, fruity, Immergeher, which ( knock on wood that he is not even discontinued at some point ) will always remain in my collection and will probably remain my signature scent for now. Never say never, but with this scent, there's no need to worry. No matter where it goes, no matter the weather, just put it on and smell good. I love this scent.

Unlike a lot of fragrances that I like right off the bat, I can't get sick of smelling it. After my blog entry, I had to dedicate him even a comment, because no fragrance has ever managed to pull me so under his spell as it has done Bleu de Chanel. No Creed or Parfums de Marly fragrance has managed that so far, even though I haven't tested them all yet, but maybe that's just due to my amateur nose and I just don't understand and appreciate these complex, sometimes exotic scents. But nonetheless, I had to write this down now because it just deserves it.

Mr. Polge, thank you so much for this perfume.

Time machine
First and foremost, the fragrance should always play the biggest role and actually it would be good if perfume manufacturers keep the bottle as cheap as possible as well as the packaging. That would make this hobby significantly cheaper. However, the Replica range has shown me that the whole shebang can give me a lot of pleasure!

For the first time I smelled At the Barbers, however, as a sample and even there he has convinced me totally. Fresh, spicy, soft, masculine, nostalgic, just beautiful! I could imagine it having a place in my collection forever. I love smelling it so incredibly much because it always brings to mind the impression of a freshly shaved face, which is usually associated with a fresh shower and nice aftershave. That energy that is triggered in me after a shower like that, that sense of optimism, I'm ready to go.... Let's go! Simply wonderful!

The bitter orange and the pepper at the beginning have an invigorating effect and conjure up a smile on my face every time. Everything that comes after makes the fragrance softer, less bitter and yet it remains all the time floral, masculine and fresh.

The overall package around this scent, makes it even better for me. The marketing department has done a great job here. You immediately feel teleported to a barbershop where you can smell soap, leather razor cloths, great oils and creams. This scent projects a complete image in my brain every time I wear it, and I feel transported to times when I wasn't even planning to be. The bottle picks up where the marketing department left off. That little rope wrapped around the neck of the bottle, which is made of real glass and has a very nice fabric label on it, is not only beautiful to me, but continues to immerse me in that time. Where products were still made to last and not everything was made of some bad plastic. Where people still took time for themselves, to visit their barbershop, to meet friends and to talk to them... The whole time wasn't as hectic and fast paced as it is today. That may be why I like this fragrance so much. It slows me down and lets me come down a bit and most importantly it puts these incredibly beautiful thoughts in my head, which is something I've rarely had with a fragrance before.

I've tested the entire Replica range and wasn't as convinced by any of them as I was by At the Barbers. ( A pity actually, because the flacons would make themselves all together well in my display case )
The durability is good. On the skin it accompanies me solid 4-5 hours and on my clothes it lasts much longer. I do not know how he arrives at the opposite sex and whether he brings compliments, but that is me with this fragrance so of no matter, because I'm with the thoughts anyway somewhere else before I'm lifted by a car and wake up again in the smog and noise of today....

A very "important" fragrance in my collection.

One of those blind buys...
..which I almost regretted if my father hadn't liked him so much.
Actually hard to believe that only 3 ingredients should be in here. That makes it honestly not easier for me but much more difficult to filter out what bothers me so much about the fragrance.

I ordered it blindly because I totally love the original and thought that the Intense version must go at least in the same direction, but far from it. The comrade here has absolutely nothing more to do with the original and in every conceivable way. Alright, I can see that. The bottle is the same except for the color. The Intense bottle is held a little darker.

However, that's about it. You could have taken the opportunity here and market it under a different name, but then not so many people like me would have come to buy the fragrance because they loved the original so.

I can honestly contribute little to the fragrance, as it is far too intense for me and actually just annoys me all day and scratches my nose from the inside. Hard to believe that here is no Ambroxan in it, because otherwise that is the culprit that drives me crazy. My father, however, liked the scent immediately and was more than surprised by the durability. The colleague makes his name namely all honor. The fragrance holds and holds and holds ...

In some comments I read something about Tropical Island ect. Maybe he was made exactly for that? You spray yourself with it, fly off on holiday, the plane crashes and you land on a desert island. Except for the clothes on your body and the scent around your neck, everything is submerged in the sea. Depending on how fast the rescuers find you... oh all we that. Joking aside :)

For the money, if you like the scent, you get a super lasting scent that a lot of people will like and should be worth every penny. I have long thought about whether I should write such a negative comment at all, but if you always only comment on the fragrances that you like super and only love hymns written, the whole picture here on Parfumo would be represented quite distorted. Then you could also read through the mostly wonderful product descriptions on the manufacturers' hompages. :)

In this olfactory sense.

Grandma's warm apple pie
The headline is in no way meant pejoratively, but speaks on the whole for this incredible natural quality of the fragrance.

It starts off beautifully fruity for my nose. The apple and the tangerine come super to the geltung, even if they are still something of a soft, floral fragrance at the beginning. With time, however, it becomes warmer and "more tart", even if that sounds a bit contradictory, but I perceive it only after a certain time as a men's perfume. Slowly the spicy notes come through, which must be caused by the patchouli and the cardamom. The woody notes support it a bit more without making it seem harsher. He remains all the time beautifully soft and sensual.

After what feels like an eternity, the vanilla joins in and he is once again a tad sweeter, which does him as a winter / autumn fragrance in no way harm. Slowly Grandma's warm apple pie came to mind, because it brings back memories of childhood, when you have warmed up after the snowball fights outside at the grandparents and Grandma served the warm cake.

All in all, this is a super beautiful, perfectly balanced scent that my olfactory senses find incredibly balanced and sensual. I have him today now for more than 10 hours on the skin and despite the fact that I have already changed again, the two sprays stand their ground and accompany me already the whole day. An end is actually not yet in sight. The durability and the sillage are outstanding. This is definitely a reason for me to reach so deep into my pocket and I will get it next year in winter at the latest. ( Now are first of all summer fragrances ;-) )

Clone? A bad one, then.
First of all: The quality differences between the Explorer and Aventus are huge and therefore a comparison is actually rather difficult for me. You do not compare a 911 with a Twingo, because they can both do the same thing, namely drive.

Nevertheless, I compared the two throughout in my head and annoyed me a little, so honest I must be, because the smell at the spray head of the respective flacons I have here at home is very similar. I thought to myself that this was going to be a bit of a trial for me, because I had spent a few hundred euros on a perfume for the first time and then Mont Blanc just clones it 1:1? But what came next reassured me immensely.

Explorer then goes in a completely different direction. Actually, the bergamot is the only thing that the two have in common at the beginning. Not even pineapple is present here?
In the further course comes through here leathery, slightly with pepper touched Ambroxan. A little softened by the "little wood" and the supporting patchouli is thereby a pretty good men's fragrance, even if I can not stand the ambroxan at all.... In no perfume, but since this is probably a subjective problem, I'll leave that out of my evaluation.

You get for the money a nice fruity opening ( with the "similarity" to Aventus, if you do not know what exactly is where in it ), but above all an average enduring men's fragrance, which should be very well received by most and bring compliments. The bottle is well made and the cap seems much higher quality and also closes better than the one from Aventus. The point probably goes to definitely Mont Blanc. ;-)
