Crushed Green Leaves, Tree Sap, and Something Screechy
A sample of Saint-Germain-des-Prés came with my purchase of Dans Paris. From the notes, I expected to love this. However, that is not the case.

The petitgrain opens very green, like crushed green leaves and some drops of tea sap. Reminds me to when I made some cuttings from my Philodendrons early in Spring.

But there is something very sweet, very powdery, and very screechy accompanying the petitgrain here. I sprayed it on my wrist once, with the tiny atomizer from the sample, and it's so strong that after 5 minutes it gave me a headache lol. This definitely can't be more different compared to Dans Paris in terms of sillage! But for the price? To be honest the Un Jardin line from Hermes is much better if you're looking for some fresh green scents.

It does smell like newly opened Macbook box
The other review mentioning that it smells like a newly opened Macbook... is almost spot on. It does smell like when you open a new Macbook/iPad package. That airy, slightly cold metal smell.
However! I think the cloves note here is more prominent. So I guess it smells like if you're unboxing a new Macbook with a bowl of dried cloves next to you.

I actually find the scent to be so comforting and excellent. To be fair though, I do love the smell of cloves and new Macbook.

About its performance: on my skin & clothes, it has strong sillage. On my skin it lasts about 8+ hours before it becomes almost unnoticeable. On my clothes though... that's another story. I once gave 2 sprays on the blanket I use on my sofa, and my whole living room then smelled like this perfume for a whole week. It is beastly!

Unscented Aleppo Soap and Old Damp Carpet
I got a sample of this a few weeks ago. On first sniff, both on paper and on my skin, I just recoiled. As what the title suggested, to my nose it smells like unscented Aleppo olive oil soap and old damp stinky carpet... It was an immediate scrubber and unfortunately for me, it actually lingered for some time.

I left it thinking that maybe it just needed time to macerate or whatever. Came back today to smell it again and yup it still smells like unscented olive oil soap and stinky damp carpet.
