White Patchouli Perfume Review

Patchouli is earthy and musty, it is overused but wonderful. Tom Ford’s White Patchouli hit a mix of dirtiness and polish at once.

The first spray is overwhelming in a Montale kind of way (which I kinda like.) The scent is heavy and lingering (which I also like) but after a few minutes of a blocked nose, you begin to appreciate the earthy qualities of patchouli. The smokiness is tempered by a light whiteness, like a patent leather trim on a buttery-leather handbag. Eventually, the deep earth gives way to a slight rosiness, a sweet powdery note. Comforting like an old leather-covered book.

A few hours after applying White Patchouli, the flavor really comes out: creaminess, caramel butter, sweet cotton candy. But beware of re-applying, or spraying too much in the first place. White Patchouli lasts until the next day, so dab it on. That way, the price is not so outrageous either.
