Confusing Fragrance Pyramid...
...because it reads a bit like you first get a sticky fruit basket thrown at you, then get rolled over by a floral wave, and because it was so nice, you are finally overwhelmed by all sorts of woodsy creatures.
But that's not true!
A few years ago, I stumbled upon this fragrance by chance and must say that for a long time it was one of my favorites because it comes across as so harmonious, soft, and unobtrusive. Personally, I have never smelled anything comparable, and I am seriously considering buying it a second time.
Shortly after the first spray, a soft woodiness comes through, which will probably keep the sweetness of the fruit in check. There is also no typical berry note, like you find in other fruity mushy fragrances. I suspect it's a berry with a pleasant acidity, maybe cassis? However, my nose isn't refined enough to judge that expertly.
Oh, and then the fragrance actually just becomes delicious and alluring, the flowers come in on velvet paws and envelop you in this special, sympathetic aura that everyone wants to exude, but which is often sought in vain in many perfumes. Yet, something makes this fragrance extraordinary, and based on the components listed above, I unfortunately can't pinpoint what that is. Touch for Women is truly a special touch: too creamy to be fruity. Too fresh to be considered powdery. Too floral to pass as a "laundry scent." Too likable to be really noticeable and too charming to be labeled as boring.

Apple yes, blossom so-so...
But I liked it. I picked it up spontaneously back then, as it was limited. Nice and fresh, apple-like, not sweet at all, and overall pleasant. There’s no woody or sharp base left behind. Longevity is zero, it evaporates after 20 minutes.

I love to love I love love
I have wanted this fragrance for a long time, and today it finally worked out. Even though it bears a strong resemblance to D&G's Light Blue, this scent comes across as a bit softer and personally more pleasant to me. There is no overpowering apple note, nor that dry dustiness in the heart note. I love love truly does not fall short of its "big brother" and is also relatively affordable. The longevity is rather mediocre, but since it is only an Eau de Toilette, that is bearable.
For me, this fragrance is not just an alternative to the popular Light Blue; it even surpasses it with its skillful and very refreshing understatement.

False trail, but not completely lost.
"Toll!"
I thought when I saw the yellow bottle on the store shelf. This must be a cool, fresh summer scent that visually stands out from the usual pink offensive.
However, one should not be misled by the fresh and cheerful color, as I realized shortly after the first spray.

The opening begins fresh: the bergamot kicks in, but it doesn’t come off very citrusy; instead, it quickly blends with the floral components. Especially a ylang note rises quickly to the nose.
In general, this fragrance doesn’t take long to reveal itself.
Already after a few minutes, the freshness is gone, and the sweet peach comes in rather impatiently, but the consistently floral composition prevents everything from ending in a gum disaster. One is still overwhelmed, thanks to the tuberose and similarly heavy, sultry notes. What I find pleasant is that I don’t smell a cheap vanilla note that would make the finish "perfect".
All in all, a pleasantly sweet peach scent remains, which one enjoys smelling long after surviving the exuberant heart.

Conclusion: I’m not entirely sure about this fragrance. I simply expected something fresh and invigorating from the poppy presentation that I could wear on warm summer days. Unfortunately, the scent couldn’t fulfill this expectation at all. In the balancing act between spring-like freshness and summer evening warmth, this fellow has undoubtedly overreached and unfortunately landed on its two letters. What a pity, because Ulric de Varens does make nice fragrances for little money.

Overall, however, it’s quite a nice, floral-sweet affair that especially lasts long on the skin. I felt followed by a peach-tuberose trail even in the afternoon after applying the fragrance in the morning. Used sparingly, it can indeed be pleasing to the wearer and their surroundings. And since you don’t spend a fortune on it, testing it out can definitely be worthwhile.
