Eternity you made my day!
I walk through the city and it smells of nothing. Especially in winter, I miss scents. Then into the crowded department store. Crowds of people that smell of nothing increase the fragrance vacuum. On the ground floor, of course, is the perfume department and on my way to the escalator, the display for the Christmas season.

A bottle catches my eye: Eternity

The perfumer has the courage to name her perfume Eternity, I think to myself, already holding the tester. She creates an incredible expectation.

Eternity is not just any word. It is an incredibly big word. It is so big that I even have the impression that people are afraid of this word. Probably that’s why it is hardly ever spoken anymore. You probably only hear it in church these days.

The word is so enormous because it knows no time. I spray a bit of the fragrance on my skin and slip into astonishment and enchantment.

Indeed, what I smell is more than earthly and present in the moment. It is encompassing. It builds a bridge and brings the forgotten to the now. That’s the only way I can explain to myself that the scent is new to me and yet feels familiar. It’s as if I remember. Time in the department store stands still for a moment. I am entranced. It connects me with the microcosm and the macrocosm. It is mysteriously elusive and unreal somewhere, and all of this without powder. Perhaps it also connects me with the future, which I of course do not know. This seems to come from the fact that it knows no time; it is, so to speak, no longer four-dimensional.

Thus, the name for this perfume seems exactly fitting and justified to me. I am happy about the scent and overwhelmed in my lack of expectation, I happily and enriched complete my errands.

Ripening Pretender Bride
Neroli, Bamboo, and Fior di Loto smells innocent, pleasantly green, like a garden with a fragrant sea of flowers.

I see a maiden rising from the sea or a spring queen among the Celts. And the dream of Kätchen conveyed to us by Heinrich von Kleist!

Love's cause: Count von Strahl: "What binds you to my steps?
Käthchen: My high lord! You ask too much of me.
And if I lay as I do before you now,
before my own consciousness,
on a golden judgment seat let it throne
and all the terrors of conscience stand
beside it in flaming armor,
every thought would still speak
to what you asked: I do not know."

Dreamy lingering near the beloved is preprogrammed.

Neroli, Bamboo, and Fior di Loto is a blend of Innocence by Chloe and Un jardin du nil, making it almost wearable for "more mature wannabe brides."

Demeter's Vision for Hot Summer Nights
Winter drags on and on, and I long for light and warmth! So far away to southern lands. Thus, I go to the nearest perfume store and test what I have wanted to try for a long time: Un Jardin après la Mousson.

And indeed, before me unfolds the entire atmosphere described: the land in the afternoon after a warm monsoon rain. The air is purified and as new, refreshed and clear. Here, one can run naked through the garden. Here, one does not have to make love under a thick down blanket. Here, one can show their bodies.

Here, it smells enchanting of plants that are in bloom and infect one with their blossoming and excitement.

But now, setting aside all emotion: Un Jardin après la Mousson is, for me, inspired by the Demeter scents. Once by the idea of capturing a natural atmosphere like, for example, Demeter "Snow."

But there are also concrete scent references for the special mood in Un Jardin après la Mousson. For me, they are Thunderstorm, Rain, Humidor, and Wet Garden. Regarding the earthy, decaying Mushroom, Greenhouse, and Dirt.

What distinguishes Un Jardin après la Mousson is that it is rounder with its flowers and greens in it, making it a true, shall we say, wearable perfume, although for me only on high summer days when it is really scorching hot.

Furthermore, Un Jardin après la Mousson is, for me, the first true unisex scent. I really cannot assign it to a man or a woman, which I have done with all unisex fragrances so far.

The most beautiful "fig" green
I occasionally enjoy trying perfumes in drugstores, pharmacies, or at Yves Rocher, etc. There are some scents that half appeal to me. But somehow, all the fragrances I try get stuck along the way or don’t develop positively.

I remember feeling this way 20 years ago, which, combined with the confusing and repulsive powdery scent cloud that Douglas stores emit, ultimately led me to lose interest in fragrances.

Thanks to niche perfumes and Parfumo, that has changed again. I am grateful for the lovely swap partners and generous donors, thanks to whom I have discovered many things that have rekindled my joy in smelling.

My last great discovery was thanks to Marron's generosity and experience: Premier Figuier. Thank you very much for that!

PF is a green perfume.

It smells pure, but not in the virginal way that most pure-smelling perfumes do, which only suits young women.

It smells pure like a palm beach on an early morning after a clarifying night. It is a dream of fig, coconut, sweet and fruity. Like from the tree, under the tree, right next to the tree, exotic, warm, evoking associations with southern regions, ripe fruits, ripeness, summer, harvest, three times a year, bombastic, absolutely and completely round, everything I wish for in a summer scent.

It feels round and warm in its nature, and in the end, I only smell beautiful ripe fig, which I want to bite into, suck on, take between my teeth, and kiss if I may.

I am currently wearing it all the time. Every time I wear it, like magic, all my positive summer memories awaken.

Unfortunately, I have the impression that I can only smell it alone, as it evaporates so quickly that I always wonder if it has a chance to reach someone else's nose?

Stifling Greenhouse Air
Greenhouse only works at 30 degrees Celsius in the shade! Now it’s too cool for that! The greenhouse atmosphere cannot unfold. G is here to add some humidity to the heat, making the breath completely catch.

I see the glass panes. Some are fogged up. Yes, someone seems to have forgotten to open the small ventilation window. The humid, hot air is stagnant.

I see the seedlings standing tall in their little pots! The damp, warm earth between my hands smells more intense than would be possible in any other situation.

However, my son rather envisions a lychee soda in a beer garden in summer. Well, yes...
