Better Options In The Spicy Catagory...
Caravelle Epicee is a bit of a puzzle that is difficult to crack. It is a very nice spicy scent that opens with a blast of herbs mixed with spices like coriander and nutmeg, while including some cumin that similar (in a good way) to Idole de Lubin, does not present the dreaded BO note like most cumin does in scents. This is a great opening and portends more great things to come from the scent... A fiery hot pepper is added to the mix to warm the spices even further... and then all of a sudden the scent nearly disappears on my skin. I remember thinking "That's it?"... Luckily it reappears within the half hour and adds a base primarily made of amber and sandalwood that is subtle but quite nice. Not much going on here in the way of either longevity or projection on my skin at least contrary to others.

All in all, I rather liked Caravelle Epicee, but I find it a bit similar to spicy scents like Idole de Lubin edp, and I prefer that one of the two, for example. Definitely worth a sniff, and if you love spicy scents, maybe even a buy. 3 stars out of 5.

Lyric Woman's Male Counterpart
Caravelle's Epicee is a mannish version of Amouage's Lyric Woman The Similar Powdery Texture of Spice Lyric
Focuses on the Rose Epicee it's aim Woods Guaiac and i noticed a note that is not in the scent cards Oud,

it's opens with somewhat of a opaqueness due to the presence of Gauaic with an Tincture of Black pepper,
In a Few Minutes Epicee turns a bit Boozy also not
in the Cards Rum a warm full bodied scent with an sweetish Undertone of Vanilla and Scrapings of Oud
to add a Dark and Esoteric Touch of Epicee, Like an
Lavish and ornate Moroccan Souk Under a Sheltering Sky
in a middle of Empty Sun Scorched Dune,

The Drydown turns Epicee from a harsh bitter herb of
black pepper to a sweeter but fiery note of Red Cinnamon to add a delectable pep of Epice,
Black Tobacco finishes this off not dominating but
but lets you know know that he's present Like a Grandfather smoking his pipe around a fire his grandchildren dozing off from one of his Bedtime Stories,

Caravelle Epicee warms you even in the coldest damp and grayest of rain and the cold of snow The Security Blanket of Fragrance.

Spice-infused wood ship
I love spicy scents so it is no surprise that I like this: the image that is created in my mind is that of a spice ship with dry spices infusing into the wood. There is the oceanic bow of ambergris which cuts through the dryness of the spices. Nutmeg is initially prominent with coriander following up. This coriander is not overpowering though, like some other scents where it can become sickening.

I would prefer this for men as it is more masculine than I like. It does not have that aquatic or citrus note that most men's scents have. The only part of this perfume that I don't like is the sillage and lasting power. As a result, I spray it liberally and often but for the price the manufacturer sells it for is not worth it because you will go through this beautiful large bottle (with a wooden cap) really quickly.

Confectionery store
The first thing that came to my mind after applying Caravelle Epicee was the scent of a confectionery store.
Caravelle Epicee has a dominant note of nutmeg which is warm, spicy and rather sweet. All other notes evolves around it. There's a beautiful creamy sandalwood note very well-blended with amber and coriander. The whole composition is masterfully formulated. It has a feminine vibe to me reminding a kind of lipsticky and soft winey note.
I wish it had more longevity.
It can be very appealing and sensual to younger guys in the mood of modern metrosexual scents but it's not my cup of tea.

Thievery Corporation – Il Grande Silencio

Often the names of the fragrances are not in correlation with their actual composition, and we witness these days too much Noirs, Nights, Intenses, Spicebombs... This is not the case.
Caravelle Epicee gives me a real olfactive picture of the ship loaded with spices on return from the mystic East. The ship's wood is impregnated with the smell of most expensive, most desirable spices in the world. I was pleasantly shocked with the strong kick of nutmeg. The caraway comes very soon, accompanied with black pepper and just a hint of chili peppers. The body of Frapin's ship is made of sandalwood and Guaiac wood. Tobacco is also one of the main players in this story, compatible with whiskies and cigars (I usually sip gentle Irish blends like Bushmills Black Bush). The rich amber from the base is so compatible with tobacco. The whole composition possesses some boozy, Cognac or Irish whiskey/Bourbon vibe.
I brought back this gorgeous liquid from my trip to Tuscany. I wore this for the first time while dining in Villa Medicea La Ferdinanda near Artimini or known as the House of hundred chimneys- the extraordinary work of Master Buontalenti. While the rest were just eating delicious Tuscan food and talked about business plans, I wander the lonely corridors and park in the dusk while wearing Caravelle. I felt the history and perfect melting of all my senses resulting in some sweet loneliness and weird masochistic happiness. This clear moment in time was given to me by Caravelle Epicee and Frapin’s characteristic aristocratic sadness.

Charming strong spices at first, then sweet-woody and mellow spicy with a wonderful tobacco-patchouli-sandalwood drydown, good longevity.
