Oh, no.
Lovely You was a blind buy for me. After researching all the notes, I thought it sounded like a hit. I was wrong. Upon testing, my immediate thought was, “This fragrance smells like urine!” More specifically, on my skin, Lovely you smells like a urine-soaked, disposable, baby diaper. Yuck! I’m glad I only purchased a tester from a discount site. I think SJP fragrances just aren’t for me. I have Born Lovely and it’s okay, though it doesn’t last more than 3-4 hours on me; I will not repurchase it. The original Lovely didn’t suit me at all; I gave it to a family member. Lovely You is going straight into the pile of items to be donated to my local thrift store. Surely it will smell better on someone else, at least I hope so!
Overwhelmed by patchouli
I was expecting a fruity floral (my favorite), but I smelled patchouli immediately. Patchouli isn’t a base note; it’s present in every phase. This fragrance reminds me very much of YSL Mon Paris EDP: fruits, rose, peony& white florals, and patchouli with musk. It makes sense , I suppose, because Olivier Cresp developed both fragrances. I want to like this scent, the same way I want to like Mon Paris, but I can’t quite get past the patchouli.
