No ships sailing the sea to bring back Elena
Bitter-sweet feelings about this perfume whose force resides in the vetiver and amber. It scared me first when osmanthus and vetiver seemed like a cold wind gust. No warmth there. And no scent for about 15 minutes as if all the notes of this perfume were frozen. Slowly the vetiver made its way out and called the amber to join forces in conquering you. And they continue this struggle all the way to the drydown without success. I could not smell the vanilla and the musc. They do not play any part in this composition.
Not bad but not a winner. Nothing to write home about!
Little sillage, short lived staying power.
A pale Elena .

We are talking the colour, right?
Because if you think about finding a scent relatively close to Heeley's Iris de Nuit or the Prada's Infusion d' Iris or even Fragonard Homme Elegant, then, I would say " Lasciate ogni speranza..."
The predominant note is given by the violettes- they have the same purple shade just like the iris-and the heliotropes. Orris and a vague tonka bean try to save the day. There are such springs when my irises do not grow at their full size and are swallowed by the roses and the carnations and all the other greens around them. This is the image the scent suggests.
Close your eyes, smell the violettes and imagine an iris in all its splendour.

How wrong can I be sometimes!!!
Bulgari lounched the series of "Teas" for quite a long time and I always avoided even trying them because I do not like to smell like tea or coffee or chocolate. Recently I received a sample of Eau Parfumee au The Rouge not in a vial, like all those samples they give you with a purchase, or a small tissue square like the Fragonard samples, but in the size of a small towel. I am not kidding. And since it was a small towel I used it after the shower just to get rid of it. The next second I thought I was smelling Behr paint with primer in the mix. It was as if I went back to the day when, out of curiosity to see if I was able to paint a room all by myself, I did it successfully with that kind of paint. Do not ask me what my thoughts were about Bulgari's Eau Parfumee au The Rouge! And what if this smell of paint lasts for a day like the Behr? Next thing was to run to my Parfumo.net and write an acidic review about it. I even settled for the title: " Not my cup of tea!"
How wrong could I have been, my friends and how much the first impression does not always count!
In less than five minutes, a beautiful, warm scent was calming me down. The Rooibos tea smell receeded and the sweetness of orange, the freshness of bergamot rounded the composition. Perfection.
A scent for cold evenings, for cool mornings, for those days when stress is unbearable.
Before the musc settled the foundation, the almond scent came strong and beautiful. Beautiful.
Longevity? Good. Unexpectedly good. Sillage? Not so much but I did not care because I wanted to keep it close to my skin and not share it with anybody around.
I think this is one of the longest reviews I wrote about a perfume and I coul keep on writting but it is a review and not a blog.
Happy to share with you my discovery.

But of course, intense is better !
The Kiss Me Tender is not the light kiss a smitten lover gives tenderly, to his sweetheart so that not to scare her away. It is "tender" because of the lightness of the scent, the evanescence . It is just like the relatives who give you those " happy to see you" kisses, lending their lips more to the air than to your cheek.
Kiss Me Intense is a real kiss to remember. No trace of lemon. A load of sweet orange blossom, clove, cinnamon, vanila with hints of musk. Yet not too sweet and with better longevity. Do not expect sillage-such an intense kiss should be kept secret- since all Patricia de Nicolai perfumes stay close to your skin.
Nevertheless you are delighted by the delicate, warm scent.
Unisex? I don't think so.
Worth trying.

Cartier sur la route de la vanille
Although vanilla is not mentionned among the ingredients , it is exactely what I smelt after the first spray. It gives roundness to the scent and happily marries the osmathus. And that is all you get. You pay for it the price for gold but it is far from the sophistication of the original Must. The latter is a real MUST. This is a Must if you must have it because is new and it has the "gold" attached to its name.
Speaking about the two perfumes in terms of jewelery, I would say that Must is a 14K while Must Gold is a 10K.
