The initial enthusiasm turned into aversion
Yesterday, I tested two fragrances, first AmorAmor by Cacharel on my left wrist, then Kenzo Amour directly on my neck. Floating on clouds and in fragrance heaven, I left the perfume store. What an outstanding scent this Kenzo Amour is, I thought to myself, while I also detected similarities (the flattering vanilla note) to Hypnotic Poison.
I was pleased to note the very good longevity. Time and again, the warm, creamy vanilla scent wafted up to my nose.
However, as the evening progressed, I unfortunately began to feel a slight nausea. So much so that I had to scrub it off my neck with a lot of soap. This is not going to work out between us after all, I am disappointed.

Little Immersive from the Seventies
Right after dabbing on Jovan Musk Oil, I have a 3.7 ml bottle of it here, a fruity sugary scent rises to my nose, instantly transporting me back to my childhood, as I open a roll of Fizzers grape candy.
Later, the scent becomes creamy and warm, now I can also smell the jasmine, which has been beautifully integrated. It doesn’t stand out in an unpleasant way, but is still quite discernible.
I can faintly detect a resemblance to the golden Elnett hairspray.
You feel scrubbed clean, the scent reminds me of foamy shampoo in my hair and cleanliness in the bathroom.
Towards the end, when Jovan Musk bids farewell to the skin, long after application, because this scent has endurance, not until the evening at the earliest, and on clothes even the next day, it is simply and plainly synthetic musk that can be sniffed out, a musk scent comparable to the musk scent from the pink Cotton Musk by Ulric de Varens.
I would classify this scent as an autumn-winter fragrance.
I actually use Jovan Musk Oil far too rarely, considering it offers such a wonderful olfactory experience, and I hope it remains available in this formulation for a long time. (2013)

Yves Rocher Gem for a Bargain Price
If you want to stand out, go for Les Plaisirs Nature organic Vanille.
Expect questions ranging from the harmless "Is that you smelling like vanilla?" to "Who just cooked cocoa here?", "Do you smell like cloves?"
A very dense, intense vanilla scent, that's how I personally perceive this fragrance, vanilla from Yves Rocher. I feel like a freshly baked vanilla crescent, generously rolled in vanilla sugar. But in the budget-friendly version, where 10 sachets cost 19 cents, not in the one that claims to contain real Bourbon vanilla from the pod.
Still, the scent is enjoyable every time.

The Carnival Sensation That Smells Less Pink Than Its Name Suggests
Pink Sugar smells immediately after spraying of burnt sugar and licorice sticks. The vanilla is not even that strong to detect. It is a total work of art, the fusion of all the fairground scents one can imagine, wafting around you while strolling.
It has nothing light about it; it is dense, dense, dense!
Astonished comments are the order of the day when wearing this fragrance.

Just a sad imitation of the former version
In 1996, I knew few fragrances. What I kept repurchasing back then was CK1. Then at some point, I got to know Pleasures, but something about that scent always bothered me, so much so that I never bought it.
With Tommy Girl, I immediately found everything harmonious; nothing bothered me. It was fresh, smelled of a white bouquet but also of tea, and it was very transparent in terms of scent experience. Yes, it had a slight "Fit" dish soap note, but that never bothered me.
This is a fragrance that never annoyed me; it was simply perfect.
Now, a year ago, I was lucky enough to get one of the bottles with the silver-milky lettering. It still smells great, despite 10 years of storage. What’s strange is that it only became beautiful and like it used to be after I sprayed it three times... the first spray didn’t smell quite fresh.
I can't relate to the current version with the red lettering, as I know how it should truly be, the Tommy Girl! I know I wouldn't be so harsh in my judgment if I only knew the new one, for sure!
