Does What It Says on the Bottle
This is a single-note vanilla fragrance. I use it mainly to layer with other fragrances because, while I like vanilla, I prefer a fragrance with other notes for depth. To be honest, I've smelled better single note vanilla perfumes, but this one is good. This has very good longevity, and it's quite inexpensive. For an EDT, this smells quite strong, so a little goes a long way.

Déjà-vu
It has been thirty years now, perhaps a little more, certainly not less.
I was just seventeen and still a bit wobbly on my own legs, which I was unexpectedly standing on.
Student loans and child benefits allowed for no big splurges; the budget was usually too small for luxury goods.
Smaller, at least, than my passion for fragrances, which had long outgrown "Janine D." and "My Melody."
It was during that time that Yves Rocher and I first met.

They were called "Chèvrefeuille" and "Diamella," "En Avril un Soir" and "Ming Shu," "Magnolia" and also quite simply "Nature."
They trained my nose, certainly my taste, and formed, quite incidentally, the foundation of a collection that has been growing and thriving ever since and still contains some scents from "Uncle Yves" among many others.
Not just out of nostalgia.
As budget-friendly as they are, they are never "cheap," shallow, or carelessly constructed; my nose does not wrinkle even today when a new Rocher comes my way.
At least not so far.

I cannot say when and how "Vanille" came to me.
The bottle is small and inconspicuous - and long overlooked.
So long, in fact, that it was the shower gel with which I then became acquainted, not knowing that a fragrance also belongs to it.
And although I knew Rocher, I was deeply impressed by this dark, tropical vanilla that, streaming from the shower, almost fills the entire house and weaves so closely and tightly with my skin as if it never wanted to let go.
Such phenomena I had only known from the luxury class, where a shower gel costs as much as Eau de Parfum elsewhere.
But not with Rocher, not with Uncle Yves.

Now "Vanille" has not only surprised me in the shower.
As unpretentious as the little bottle suggests simplicity: Already the first spray proves it wrong.
Dark golden, tropical dense, a cloud of fine, rich, smoky pod rises from my skin - a déjà-vu of "Noir Tropical" and "Eau des Missions," Montale's I'm-not-a-almond and many other treasures whose price sometimes really hurt me.
A sip of lemon buttermilk only refreshes briefly, then half-dark smoky velvet clouds embrace and sway me, so warm and soft yet so light, almost weightless.
Little children's noses sniff: "You smell nice again!" and my beloved's hands do not let go.
And Uncle Yves also holds me tight with his scent, for hours, for days, if I want.
Meanwhile, a latte macchiato costs more...

Is the reputation ruined...
... it writes itself quite unabashedly.

So I’m going to do something and finally ruin my reputation. Not that I have the reputation of a refined supernose. But I suspect that my enthusiasm for this Yves Rocher will really land me in hot water. But who cares. I have no intention of pretending that it’s not good enough for me just to mark myself as a capricious connoisseur.

I love this pure and opulent vanilla from YR!! I can recommend it without a guilty conscience to those who feel an insatiable craving for delicious vanilla as the temperatures drop and the days get shorter. I actually bought it as a pillow scent, but I can’t help but spray it on generously: usually in duet with another fragrance, but when I’m hungry, then just on its own.

Just for the sake of completeness: Should anyone think that I can’t distinguish artificial vanilla from real and that’s why I’m so enthusiastic about this YR- I know real vanilla very well! I use it regularly: I’m a die-hard ice cream machine user!

P.S. Oh, and: It lasts! It lasts the whole (cold and gray and hungry) day.

My personal "Boxershorts-Dropper" ;-)
What seductive, sometimes very high-quality and expensive fragrances have I not owned/tested and held under my sweetheart's nose. The undisputed Hypnotic Poison, Tom Ford's mysterious Black Orchid and Noir de Noir, the collected works of Dita von Teese, Ardent, and so on... The list could go on endlessly. But do you know which one really drives him wild? That's right! The vanilla from old Uncle Yves. Every time I wear it, my sweetheart becomes downright clingy and buries his nose deep in me. He would love to slip into me, as he emphasizes. So far, I haven't had a fragrance that he loves as much as this one. In the meantime, I've also gotten the body lotion and shower gel, so I'm basically an all-over vanilla monster :-) I personally love the scent as well, since I adore vanilla and this fragrance never comes off as too overpowering or cheap. Unfortunately, this is often the case with other vanilla scents. I've also never smelled a vanilla that is so full-bodied and warm. To all vanilla lovers - give it a try!

Simply Vanilla!
Do you love vanilla pudding? Vanilla ice cream? Vanilla milk? The taste? The smell? Simply everything?! Then go for it, damn it! You can’t go wrong! At an affordable price, you get ... vanilla! Simply vanilla. Soft, warm, feminine, just beautiful. Not too sweet, but simply pleasant and cuddly - especially in autumn, winter, and on gray, dreary days. From my perspective, it doesn’t matter when and where this fragrance is worn, because this vanilla here doesn’t overwhelm the wearer and stays subtly in the background with the right dosage. It urgently needs to come back into my collection!

Gourmand and sweet, maybe a little bit sweetish, it's a very warm vanilla "only for lovers". Average to quite good sillage.Girlish.

It's very special. It reminds me of my mom making desserts. I can wear it for Christmas. I'm glad I bought it at a good price. Rating: 9/10

Simple vanilla that has a lot to offer. Comforting, cozy, wonderful. Vanilla at its core. Unfortunately buried like so many good scents from Yves.

One of the best vanilla scents out there. Caramelized, fresh Bourbon vanilla sugar, and it's real vanilla, not synthetic.

YR, what have you done? Why did you let so many great scents go? Such a delicious, unique vanilla. Velvety-powdery. Oh… :(

A vanilla scent that strongly reminds me of vanilla paste for baking. Not bad considering the price/quality ratio.

Super sweet and artificial. Like all Les Plaisirs Nature scents, not my thing.

Sweet, freshly made vanilla pudding: Still warm, with a caramel note and so creamy-rich.
