Trillium

I was not expecting nutmeg, but there it is. It was a nice, spicy surprise.

Similar to Tresor’s syrupy sweetness, but pear instead of apricot, and with a greenish bite from cassis, jasmine, honeyed sandalwood.

Tuberose, not rose, dries down to just plum and vanilla on me. Pleasant but not very unique.

Midcentury’s idea of a “clean” scent, appealed to Marilyn and my grandma who both grew up poor and fatherless. A luxurious comfort.

The scent of everyone’s dad in the late 1970s, able to withstand food, cigarettes, sweat, diapers, potpourri, gasoline and women’s perfume.
