Dupe scents will go on.

I am not so much in favor of scents which are clones of famous fragrances . However, taking into account the price factor I fully understand the triumph of clones. Besides that, we must admit that it ain't a war between good and evil, the famous authentic and the notorious clone. It is mostly a fact of fragrance business we cannot keep eyes shut at. Universal e-shops like Notino are like guides for the false beginner fragrance collector, and since this kind of e-shops feature reviews of the buyers  it is a matter of very short time to discover the quality clones of the more or much more expensive real designer fragrances or niche perfumes.

I have a larger list but I will mention only two examples of cloning and quite identical cloning, the notes are almost the same! 1.Parfums de Marly Delina exclusif edp for women / Armaf Club de nuit White Imperiale edp for women.  2.CHANEL Bleu edp for men / Armaf club de nuit iconic edp.

Are you refering to clones a lá Divain, Equivalenza, Parfume Parlure oils and so on, to inspirations such as some Lattafa and many well loved Arabic brands, or to false copy? For false I mean the one that replicate everything from packaging to box because that I agree, they are the Devil, you never know if they are tested on animals or done in unsafe environment and with unsafe ingredients. And of course illegal and gross. Notino doesn't have those, but it has the usual problem that "grey markets" have, you never know where that batch comes from...authentic it is, but was it stolen? Wss it sold in abundance because it was deteriorating? Comes from Eastern market? On some Montale they scratch they batch code so we never know...
It is a very big and nuanced discussions, personally I am not against dupes, I always prefer the original because I want the full sensorial experience but I am so happy to see discontinued scent replicated. For instance Love by Chloe which costed me an eye 😅

I mean dupes basically and rather great in copy with a different name than the original niche or design fragrance. Meant to be a copy of the ingredients and notes. I haven't ever bought one of those which even imitate the bottle. I have heard of a Bulgarian site that you find in many different countries in Europe, their base is in Bulgaria ,but the shops in various countries. It is called 'leparfum'. Better avoid them!

Yes, I agree, the struggle between original creations and inspired by fragrances is not a war between good and evil, but is it fair, sometimes I do wonder. Perhaps there ought to be short-term patents that will protect the houses who paid the perfumers to create the fragrances we love to buy clones of. It is a grey area, there are no easy answers, but we can all share our thoughts.

Legally you are right. If there were patents there would be no clones. On the other hand clones are good ,the manier the better. It means the original fragrance is excellent at least in longevity and sillage, cause to be honest the customers care a lot about that.
I am so dissapointd the Arabic brands make so many clones because their trsdition in perfumery is wonderful and admirable. But it is not only Arabic companies that make clones. In my country and I supposed in many others there are virtual shops that sell synthetic copies of the original fragrances for 9 - 15€ so anyone can have synthetic replica of expensive perfumes and I think from this type of blooming trade clones got really established themselves.
