What a day in NYC
So my friend and I have been cologne hunting for some time. I mainly have traveled to the city regarding cologne hunting and doing other things with friends from church etc. Today, I brought him to the Nordstrom Flagship on 57th str in NYC for the first time (it was my third time!). I told him that this scent, Amouage Gold Man, would be the one.

Boy was I wrong.

Within ten minutes of spraying this thing, I step outside and BAM! The cold weather, with Gold Man riding in the backseat of this tsunami of a scent, crashed into the endless vista of my olfactory senses, practically KOing me. It was just TOO aldheydic, pungent, sharp, ANIMALIC. ALL AT ONCE. Amouage makes some very good and natural long lasting fragrances, but this one though complex just was too much… I literally felt as though the fragrance was alive, like some sort of beast that was so powerful. I then reached below into the inner chambers of my black leather jacket (it was practically 15 degrees!) and unsheathed my Lord of Misrule by Lush.

No sooner than when I began spritzing myself did Gold Man flex his notes that much further. I felt as though this was a fire of some sort that just COULDN’T BE PUT DOWN. Even spraying other fragrances from other stores did not help. Eventually however, I sprayed Acqua Neroli by Clean Reserve, slaying him after such a long fight.

Anyways, I have Paul Sebastian which this sort of reminds me of. Ngl though even PS doesn’t uppercut me like this does.

Final words… I do appreciate polarizing scents, and this certainly is one of them. I will return to this one at the time appointed. As for now, I will be on the search for other niche fragrance houses. May anyone recommend please? Thanks. And thank you all for reading!
