Man in black

The last comment this year I write about Bvlgari Man in Black Yes the color black what does it actually mean.

It is probably associated with mystical, fear , sadness, death.
But you can also say the color radiates power, strength, self-confidence.

Let's think of black leather jackets or a stylish noble black evening dress.

Bvlgari Men in Black is a good masculine fragrance.
He is not quite so black.

The tobacco and rum one smells out in a well-dosed manner. Also the Holzigen notes carry the fragrance all the time in the fragrance gently through the entire performance.
Leather I smell out only very restrained.
As a whole, the fragrance is very harmonious and very nicely matched.
Praise to Alberto.
Who expects a violently heavy fragrance here will probably be disappointed.

But he fits perfectly with a leather jacket.
The price-performance ratio is for me in a fair range. The shelf life could be a little longer. The sillage is fine.
I personally like fragrances with which I slay my fellow man anyway not.

Last but not least.....
On 06.01 I am one year on Parfumo active.
I have read a lot about fragrances as well as learned.
The most important was or has been for me but that I could narrow down my fragrance preferences.
The most beautiful side effect was in this not quite simple year, I have met many nice people. To a few I have now built a very good friendship.
And yes there are also which are grown to me meanwhile also very to the heart.
For this I would like to thank you.

Beautiful fragrance, if you know how to wear the...

If you know how to wear the, then the magic of this fragrance really comes into its own, because notes like rum in combination with tobacco and leather can quickly smell someone after drunk "homeless" (in my opinion). But if you know how to wear the, I say as an example (is definitely a fragrance for the evening) a confident man in a black suit or black shirt on a date or gala. I would not wear the fragrance to the gym with in sweatpants. A very nice fragrance that gives a strong punch at the beginning with tobacco and rum, then a short time later provides something for warmth and "well-being" (similar effect as Spicebomb Extreme) and then in the drydown again convinced with a subtle guaiac wood note and a present tonka bean. Definitely recommendable!

At the airport of Turin I snooped through the duty free shop again and discovered two new fragrances. Dior Homme Intense and this treasure, Bulgari Man in Black.

With this fragrance you get a warm, sweet but still definitely masculine scent that is truly unique. This scent is practically the slightly playful turtleneck sweater under a suit. I also see it more with 20-40 year olds than with really young or sedate people.

The tonka bean, paired with the iris, is the first thing you notice besides the slightly alcoholic note of rum. I'm not a big fan of alcoholic smelling scents, but as this one has that certain sweetness, exactly that is defused and brought to a really pleasant level.

The bottle is made of 60% matte black-coated glass and 40% black plastic, so you can't tell how much is left in the bottle. In itself it looks good and doesn't attract scratches, although I like to take it to work unprotected in my pocket. Even though the upper part is made of plastic, the spray head works really well and even the turning mechanism hasn't given up the ghost after turning it up and down several times
Beautiful perfume for the evening hours in the transition months or a cold summer night

The Bvlgari handsome man in black

The looks...
This perfume is the black Taj Mahal of perfumery, a monument to the more daring Italian designers. The presentation gives us one of the market most nice-looking bottles, very manly and sober. Undoubtedly the matte black and rose gold flask does grab one's attention on any shelf. However, it's not built with rugged construction. Also, the handy smart locking sprayer may let you down sometimes.

If one is allowed to have various signature fragrances, this is one of mine. It's very intense (an EDP), quite aromatic and spicy, with very good quality perfume essences and a manly dark scent. It smells expensive and classy. Only Spicebomb comes close, but why use Spicebomb when you have BVL Man in Black? Spicebomb is boldier and spicier but Man in Black is more woody, elegant and wearable (I use both perfumes actually).
For short, it's an aromatic, boozy, spicy and just a bit sweet oriental fragrance.
It opens with a punch of spices and rum. You may imagine yourself as a powerful pirate captain, fearfully and full of confidence. Add some imagination and you will become either Barba Rossa or Jacques Laffite. You will feel like it everybody is recognizing your power and strength. It's so good when we are the centre of the world...
The heart is not far apart from the spicy boozy opening. Tuberose starts the sweet cycle of this perfume, but the sweetness reais up with a sour dark leather that contributes to the fragrance DNA. You have the power, but you also exale some smoothness and sweetness.
In the base stage, you consolidate your strength with a gorgeous blending of the fainting leather, dark Guaiac (called "saint wood" in some parts of Africa and Brazil), vanilla and tonka. And it lasts long enough for you not to regret your choice (8 hours longevity with 3 sprays in the back of my hand).
You must use Man in Black among people who like strong scents. Most people will love your sillage but may become uncomfortable with your close proximity. You should use it in classy parties, weddings, classy clubs or alone for your own pleasure. Humphrey Bogart clipe have used it in Casablanca for sure. Unfortunately, it may be too intrusive for close encounters (hugging and cuddling), but who cares... It's so marvellous in the proper occasions.
The nose behind it? It's one of the works I prefer from Alberto Morillas but I always think of it as a Nathalie Lorson creation. I wonder why?

Longevity: 8.0 (slightly above average longevity of 7~8 hours with 2 sprays)
Sillage: 8.0 (slightly above average radius of 5 feet with 2 sprays; it projects for 2 hours)
Uniqueness: 9.0 (I take off 1.0 just due to the 2 years older Spicebomb)
Wearability: 8.5 (Fall and winter - day and night; Spring at night)
Versatility: 8.0 (you may still have to "teach" other people to appreciate this wonderful fragrance; but you may well use it everywhere except beach, gym, workout and any kind of hot sweaty places)
Compliments: 9.0 (very good, but not the best; men rate its compliment grabbing ability with a 10 and women with an 8; dark spicy fragrances allways have a bigger compliment efect on men than on women)
Quality: 9.0 (very good quality ingredients; sturdy enough flacon but a faulty sprayer locking mechanism)
Presentation: 10.0 (one of the best looking bottles in the market)
Price: 8.0 (A bit on the expensive side for a designer bottle that costs more than 45~50 Euros for the 100ml flask, but remember that you are buying a market leader)

The man in black radiates maturity - and is into pipe tobacco.

Man in Black ended up on my autumn/winter watch list after one of my numerous forays into this wonderful community. On the same day, I dug out a handful of specimens at home that I had not yet decided on - et voilá: the gentleman in black from Bulgari was there with me!
Pffft - I am thrilled! The first impression reminds me strongly of Herod! Wow! Clearly the tobacco in the top note is responsible for this. One in Black's tobacco is dry sweetish. Caressed by a warm coat of powder. The powdery note is by no means too present. Like a thin cashmere cardigan. In this cardigan I sit on a veranda of wooden panels and sip a liqueur. Something soft, not 40% rum, you can hardly taste the alcohol. My father sits next to me and smokes a pipe, the smell of tobacco wafts over to me from time to time - I sniff it out.

Man in Black is an incredibly pleasant fragrance that creates a warm atmosphere. It can be worn on an evening with friends as well as in the office, if you want to be a pleasant contact person. An innovative marketing genius in his early 20s may want to look for a more bubbly scent. One in Black suits the sedate man who radiates prudence and maturity - this can also be the case at 30. A fragrance I will always be happy to return to!
