The tired Eros
Admittedly, due to the previous reviews that put "Blue Sapphire | Lattafa / لطافة" in the vicinity of Versace Eros, I had relatively high expectations.
But to say it up front: These were only partially fulfilled.

I personally miss the characteristic bubblegum note in the fragrance, the syrupy sweetness of candied apple and tonka that makes Eros so famous.
But there are also quite a few who criticize precisely this synthetic sweetness.
For them, the "Blue Sapphire | Lattafa / لطافة" would certainly be worth a test.

The lack of ambroxan in "Blue Sapphire | Lattafa / لطافة" also makes it seem somehow inconspicuous, almost pale.
It is much more skin-friendly than its role model and therefore appears quieter and more harmless.
"Blue Sapphire | Lattafa / لطافة" starts in the drydown of "Eros (Eau de Toilette) | Versace" and remains linear for 4-6 hours.
A great fragrance development is not noticeable during this time.

Is "Blue Sapphire | Lattafa / لطافة" now the "adult version" of Eros?

I would say no. Eros is Eros because this bubblegum sweetness and the loud charisma is his personality.
Blue Sapphire, if compared to Eros, is a light version.
But I would like to appreciate Blue Sapphire in its oriental signature and see it as an independent fragrance that is merely inspired by Eros.

Love that never fades!
Who remembers the good old 90s?
Mankind was only at the beginning of the digital revolution.
There was still no GPS, no smartphones, no internet.
From today's perspective, many things were more complicated and yet I never felt as free and carefree as I did in the 90s.
I became aware of my love of fragrances during this time, even though I was still a youngster.

in 1995, a fragrance came out that immediately captivated me and stayed with me for many years from that day on
"Sculpture Homme (Eau de Toilette) | Nikos" had this unique aura and fascinated not only me, but also the world of women.
I experienced my first kiss with Sculpture, my first vacation, celebrated parties with it and loved the smell on my smoky clothes in the morning.
Yes, Sculpture and I were very close, almost intimate, and he accompanied me almost every day as I grew up.

Unfortunately, a very bad reformulation took place in the 2000s, which turned Sculpture into a nondescript drugstore water.
At least the price went down too.
But for me, Sculpture lost its appeal with the reformulation and so we went our separate ways... until today.

We are in the year 2024, I have aged almost 30 years, the first gray hairs are blending into my curls, the deep grooves on my forehead tell of life and the many decades of my coffee consumption have forced me to use a whitening toothpaste.
Life has left visible traces without ifs and buts and yet some things have never changed.
In a way, time has even stood still.

I became particularly aware of this when I found out that Nikos Parfumes had actually brought out a new edition of my long-lost love.
How many times over the years have I wished that they would bring Sculpture back to life? That we would be reunited and I could reminisce kitschily.

With "Sculpture Parfum | Nikos" I can not only travel back to my golden past, but now I also have my companion back for the future.
Like me, Sculpture EdP has become more mature and wiser.
The youthful flippancy has given way to urban elegance.
Full woody notes dominate the characteristic floral bouquet and are framed by finely tuned tonka.

I am delighted that our paths have brought us together again and that we have both matured in a certain way.
Actually, it feels like you've never been away.
I'm ready to making memories - again!

Underrated Superstar!
It feels like Lattafa releases a new fragrance every month. The quality of many of them is good to very good, but not all of them make it into my collection.
"Ajayeb Dubai | Lattafa / لطافة" was allowed to stay right away. Not only because the fragrance draws a lot of attention to itself, but because the alcoholic saffron-coffee note with a touch of tropical pineapple, oriental vanilla and dry sandalwood is simply amazing!
The combination is reminiscent of "Boss Bottled (Eau de Toilette) | Hugo Boss", but more like its rebellious, evil brother with 1000 more horsepower under the hood.
Smells very mainstream and could also be a celebrated new disco fragrance from Paco Rabanne.

For me, "Ajayeb Dubai | Lattafa / لطافة" is a seductive and dominant party and dating fragrance that is guaranteed not to miss its mark!
Currently flies completely under the radar and definitely deserves more attention.

A nobrainer for

Burnt cotton candy on a leather sofa
... one could describe "Oud 24 Hours Majestic Gold | Ard Al Zaafaran / ارض الزعفران التجارية" in one way or another.
Clear oriental recognition value with hints of the western mainstream.
I mainly perceive a dark, vanilla note that enters into a liaison with a slightly artificial leather.
Add to that some burnt cotton candy and creamy soft ice cream.

I quite like this fragrance combination, it even has something seductive about it, but it's not a general crowdpleaser.
I would recommend "Oud 24 Hours Majestic Gold | Ard Al Zaafaran / ارض الزعفران التجارية" more to experimental noses who like oriental gourmand fragrances and want to try out a new scent.

The longevity is average at 7 hours, sillage not room-filling but well perceptible in the first 2 hours.

Conclusion:
For around 20€ you get a lot on offer and can also buy it blindly.
I think most people will at least not be disappointed by "Oud 24 Hours Majestic Gold | Ard Al Zaafaran / ارض الزعفران التجارية"!

Sweet death
... were the first thoughts I had in my head when I sprayed on "Wafa | Ard Al Zaafaran / ارض الزعفران التجارية".
My morbid associations are supported by the fruity-ashy plum-incense combo. There's also a lot of patch and a medical Frankenstein note that looks deep inside the human body like a dissecting knife.
The rose merely serves as decoration for the coffin, which has been colorfully cobbled together from vanilla-scented wood.

"Wafa | Ard Al Zaafaran / ارض الزعفران التجارية" is a niche fragrance from the Arabian Lattafa Group and is so special that you can only love it or hate it.
It has a dark seriousness that is the opposite of crowdpleasing. No laughter, no facial expressions - just a face that looks like a mask. This smoky fruit sweetness, reminiscent of dried fruit and the fresh smell of corpses, shows me the finiteness we are confronted with every day.
Even though "Wafa | Ard Al Zaafaran / ارض الزعفران التجارية" is definitely a high-quality composition, I unfortunately can't think of a single situation in which I could wear it - except for a funeral.
