Paper is not the same as skin.
First of all: I'm new here and therefore still inexperienced in testing and commenting on fragrances. So I might as well tell you about my rookie mistake. I recently received some samples (the first of my life purchased from a "souk"), including Musc Ravageur
from Frédéric Malle

As I suddenly found myself "confronted" with some samples after a really beautifully packaged shipment from a souk partner, I was immediately a little overwhelmed. And since I had already "contaminated" my left and right hand with other fragrances, Musc Ravageur only made it onto a strip of paper that I had organized beforehand.

The scent smelled pleasant, but it didn't immediately take hold of me. I put the strip aside. After further study of the fragrance here in this beautiful forum, I consciously applied it to my skin again last night after a fresh shower, as an evening and night fragrance, so to speak.

Even in the evening, the sensation was much nicer and warmer, with amber, musk, cinnamon and vanilla enveloping my receptors in a cuddly and protective way. Similar to a gentle mixture of roasted almonds, toffee and a hint of candy floss. However, not repulsive or synthetic, but quite elegant and fitting.

Breathing the fragrance on my skin gave me new impulses, it showed me that a fragrance also requires dedication and patience to get to know it in its fullness.

My conclusion: I am impressed by the longevity and sillage, the fragrance develops very naturally and balanced on the skin. A quick strip of paper is no substitute for skin and time. Just like in real life: love and lust are two different things. Learned something again.

Musc Ravageur has taken me in. A beautiful fragrance, more for the evening, for festive occasions and romantic hours. Sensual and festive. I like it.

Incredibly beautiful and elegant.
Back in 2022, I received a sample of Gisada Ambassador as an addition to a perfume order.

This beautiful and deep potpourri hit me after the very first spray: Warm, fine, cultivated, elegant, present, somewhat smoky, but in a pleasant sense.

I won't describe the individual ingredients any further here, as you can see them in the "fragrance pyramid" above anyway.

I've been keeping an eye on my little fragrance sample like a lynx ever since, as I wanted to buy a larger bottle of this fragrance myself at some point. Two years later, the time had come: another fragrance was running low and the Ambassador finally arrived.

The classic, simple design of the bottle, combined with black elements and a magnetic closure, also make the fragrance a visual favorite. No frills, just pure elegance.

The perfume has a long shelf life and a very good sillage, which also pleases me. I see it more as a fall and winter fragrance, but I also enjoy it now in summer.

The composition of the scents evokes soft and warm notes, suggesting confidence and authenticity, character and charisma. It is one of those fragrances that you want to smell all the time. Harmoniously balanced in itself.

A fragrance that my wife also really likes on me. The current price-performance ratio is good for me.

I would choose this fragrance as my successor to Chanel Egoiste from earlier days, although I find Gisada's Ambassador to be rounder, richer and more voluminous. All subjective impressions, of course.

Definitely test Gisada Ambassador, a clear recommendation to buy, 10 stars.

Best regards from the beautiful Berchtesgadener Land.

The enigma of Rio de Janeiro
It was over 15 years ago, when I was in my mid-thirties. Together with 4 friends, we were in Brazil, more precisely in Rio de Janeiro. We were crazy about football and were in love with Copacabana, Sugar Loaf Mountain and the oversized Christ, Cristo Redentor.

And then there it was, all of a sudden, that smell. It hit me like a black lightning bolt, full of sophistication and forbidden nuances, intrusive and yet laissez-faire. Pleasing and yet animalistic, patriarchal and magical anyway. A friend of mine wore it on him.

He kept it a well-kept secret for a week - a whole week, in fact. He wouldn't reveal what kind of fragrance it was. He still wanted to have it exclusively for himself and asked for understanding. It was hard to come by anyway and not available anywhere, he reassured us.

Every day we were able to elicit another clue from him as to what this woody, intoxicating and beguiling scent was all about. He said that women were crazy about it and that it lasted forever.

And after a few days, the only words that came to mind were "Afghan" and "crazy nose". That was all we ever heard from our mutual friend. I went on a search and found this scent.

My first, expensive blind purchase. And I haven't regretted it since. You need self-confidence and occasion to wear this composition. The fragrance has character, polarizes, it smells of hemp and hashish, even though I have no access to such substances in real life. Nevertheless, this fragrance is captivating, thanks to its simple bottle, the black fluid inside, its incredible sillage and its long shelf life.

As Nasomatto does not provide any information about the ingredients, I can only guess at a lot of things. But since I'm not an expert in such matters, I'll spare you my amateurish misjudgments here. For me, Black Afgano is a masterpiece of courage, diversity and masculinity. Tart and sweet at the same time, offensive and longing, protective and elegant. An unusual orchestra, that's for sure.

A fragrance not for every day, and certainly not for every man.
You should be one beforehand, because this fragrance needs the charisma of the wearer.

Have fun sniffing it. Greetings from the beautiful Berchtesgadener Land.
