Was quite surprised...
I saw in a Douglas that MCM must have launched a collection of new fragrances. My first scent was "Charmin Pup". I find it very light. At the beginning I smell a.. "grown-up" lemon iced tea. Not squeaky sweet. A hint of a summer evening on the terrace having a few drinks with friends. Then I find that it develops slightly differently on me. I smell more vetiver than tonka bean, but I can still smell tonka in the last puff of my nose. The fragrance becomes slightly warmer. And I find that the fragrance is already addictive. The sillage is sufficient and it is still close to the skin even after a whole day. Very great. Give it a try and give it a chance. The others in the collection were too heavy and sometimes too smoky/burnt for me. Simply a great fragrance for me.

I was so looking forward to it...
But that was probably nothing. I let myself be lulled a little by the reviews. I don't miss anything about peach, but I just don't smell peach, I really smell what the scent pyramid says. I know that peach is not listed, but well, as I said, I relied on the ratings :') And with me it also develops so terribly synthetic-rotten fruit... Shaaaaad. I was looking forward to a nice body lotion scent, but with this one I'm going to take a shower again voluntarily :'(

I weep with happiness
Yes, perhaps a little dramatic, but what I smell here is simply out of this world for me. For some it's just super simple, but for me it's just the right essence. I think this fragrance will be in the top league of my fragrance collection for a very long time. I received a sample today, sniffed it unsuspectingly and didn't have high hopes, but WOW! It was love at first sniff. I didn't have to make sure and give it time, I KNEW immediately that it would be my new favorite fragrance. I rarely have anything like this anymore.

The fragrance pyramid seems to be kept very simple. I actually can't smell any of the notes from the pyramid, because it's sweet and airy on my skin. Yes, like a fine almond note, but in a synthetic, fresh laundry way. But not in a pungent synthetic way, no drifting off into artificiality. It's simple, creamy, powdery, almondy. A slight hint of marzipan. Not too sweet, not too overwhelming. I am speechless and ungodly in love. If it wasn't so hard to get hold of. Quite rightly for me a fragrance I would sell my mother for :D
No, of course never, but just so you understand how much this fragrance blows me away. A tiny little masterpiece for ME.

Never been so scared...
... sniffing this wonderful vintage opium from the year '81. I had already paid a 'few' euros and really hoped that it hadn't tipped. So I got my husband in to do the test first and let me drip it onto his skin. We waited 1 minute and then- OH! He shouted over to me "Oh yeah, it's really hitting you in the face, it's just BAM!". And he, who has no idea about perfume and only got to know Opium (2009) Eau de Toilette a week ago, was immediately convinced, oh yes, the fragrance is something special. I mean, we only had the EdT (2009) from Opium as a comparison test, but I've heard several times that the EdP and EdT from today are hardly any different.
Well, we sprayed the Opium (2009) Eau de Toilette on one wrist and the Vintage Opium on the other as a test. And hallelujah. I thought today's Opium was still very strong for the times, but the Opium (1977) Parfum is really a tad fuller. It settles on your skin like a thick blanket of spices. Impossible to escape. At first they both smell pretty much the same when you apply them, but after a little time on the skin, I notice the quality of the vintage fragrance. It doesn't fade as quickly as the Opium (2009) Eau de Toilette, it remains beautifully spicy and full. Opium 2009, on the other hand, clearly shows that it has been emaciated. After a little while, not much of the typical Opium remains, it really just smells watered down to me and yes... actually kind of rancid now.... Sorry, I can't describe it any better, you can tell I've just become a huge fan of vintage. I don't think you can go far wrong with today's EdP, but anyone who wants to experience the true pleasure should really try the Vintage scent. It's a feast...

I am really shocked at how much of the old fragrances have been removed. At the same time, I'm impressed that it still retains its typical opium scent. Just not with that nice oomph anymore.

Please don't...
I'm so sorry, but we're not warming up. I would love to like it so much, just for the insanely beautiful bottle, but every time it attacks my nose. It declares war and beats the living daylights out of everything inside me... The first few seconds are really nice, and I almost like it, but then BAM comes the very synthetic popcorn note for me... Ufff it really kills me... It makes me really nauseous, I've even had to wash it off my joints.... Uff Uff Uff... It's really horrible for me. There are so many fragrances that I don't like or just wouldn't wear, but this one really is my nemesis. And I just have to express that now. Thank you
