I tested the "Portraits of Portofino | Birkholz," the "Vibrato | Sospiro," and the "Turathi (Blue) | Afnan Perfumes," as I really like the scent DNA. To start: all three fragrances smell very similar and thus extremely good when first sprayed.
However, over the next minutes and hours, they develop completely differently. The Portofino stays very close to the initial impression and is therefore my favorite. The Vibrato develops the most complexity and reveals a mix of woods. I like the Turathi the least in the drydown.
All three fragrances have their own justification for existence and can be recommended at their respective prices. For me personally, the
Portraits of Portofino is the best and thus my summer fragrance for 2026.
