This scent has been a fellow companion of mine for over 30 years. It’s one of those “they don’t make ‘em like that any more scents.”
It opens up with very (!) gentle hints of aldehydes and subdued fruity notes. They are there, but only in supporting roles. The main character is that of a fresh leaning but very powdery rose and sandalwood scent. Very gentle and clean powdery scent. I just love it and it can be had super cheap these days.

This is a manly leaning rose. It immediately opens with a dry, dewy, transparent and very realistic pink rose. Its freshness is elevated by subtle mint. The pink pepper is extremely well integrated and recedes into the lovely cedar wood base. The wood base creates this whole rose (flower & stem) feeling and with the dryness of the rose it does make the scent lean more robust and, well, masculine. Les Indemodables is well known for high quality raw materials and this scent shows it. Very good for summer, especially slightly cooler days. I love this scent a lot.

I struggled with iris for some time, so this one had to grow on me, but once it did, it quickly made it into my core collection.
This is a razor sharp, steely, and austere scent. The dominant notes are iris and violet, both having a touch of floral notes with prominent dry powdery notes. These are beautifully structured over clean musks. The scent becomes meditative and encourages a sense of focus and resolve. Very business appropriate or when a minimalist scent seems desirable. Not a crowd pleaser and while sillage is long, it never screams. Elegance never shouts, so this figures.
In winter it mirrors a freezing cold crisp sunny day, and that means to me it’s a year round scent. I find the execution very true to Guerlain and am surprised by the negative reviews. It is deliberately understated and minimalist, and it does this flawlessly.
