Cherry Complexity
I love and have tried many cherry fragrances. This one ranks right up among the best.

I've seen a lot of people describe a "medicinal" note in cherry fragrances. Thankfully, I usually don't get that impression. This time, when applying the fragrance, I got a distinct hit of Robitussin...and I didn't dislike that.

The medicinal cherry on first whiff was nostalgic, reminding me of Mom giving that spoonful of the strong stuff as I lay on the couch watching The Price is Right and reading Sweet Valley High books.

That initial medicinal hint gives way to a more complex cherry, as it blends with the resinous myrrh and rich ink notes. This feels a little sexy, a little dangerous, a little mysterious.

On drydown, it smells to me almost exactly like Lolita Lempicka. Lolita Lempicka just happens to be my most favorite fragrance of all time, so this is a high compliment.

If you're looking for a sweet, off the tree, cherry scent, this is probably not for you. If you want a fragrance that is moody and sophisticated, while giving some cherry as well, give this fragrance a try.

Orange! Just orange! Done well.
Smells nearly identical to Satsuma from The Body Shop. Straight, juicy sweet orange. Since it's citrus, the longevity is not the best, but it's such a great, uplifting, mood-bosting scent. The fact that this is an oil does help the longevity a bit, as does the cedarwood note, but still, it suffers from "citrus short-timer's syndrome". If you don't mind re-applying or layering this, it's a delicious, zesty scent, perfect for summer or just dreaming of summer.

Not as ricey as I was expecting
Rice Makgeoli and Dirty Rice must have spoiled me for rice perfumes, because compared to those two, White Rice falls way short. The opening is VERY astringent. Not just the alcohol in the perfume, but a strongly astringent scent, like an acetone or witch hazel sort of scent. It's strong and screechy and headache-inducing. After that, it's more floral than anything. I'm not big on florals, so I wasn't in love. The musky, woody and starchy notes finally come through in the dry down, but at that point, the scent is almost completely faded away.

Sweet vanilla with oomph
I'm surprised that this has as many reviews stating poor longevity as it does that say it lasts a long while. For me, I got moderate-long longevity (8 hrs) out of it. As for the fragrance, I don't get much marshmallow out of it, it's more of a basic vanilla without the marshmallow gooeyness. In fact, this smells a lot to me like Choco Musk, which smells more of vanilla than chocolate to me anyway. It's pleasant and long lasting, but is it the best marshmallow out there like many say? Eh...not really.

Lovely, wearable pastry scent
This is just about the most perfect gourmand scent I have tried. The opening is a very creamy, peachy vanilla. It shortly gives way to the other orchard fruits (plum, apple, apricot) and a warm, nutty pastry. It smells like a warm fall dessert and the pastry and orchard fruit notes carry into the dry down. The longevity is quite good for a gourmand, I got 8+ hours of wear on this. This was tested as a sample, but it's on my full-bottle wishlist, despite it being pricey.
