Do you have a dog-walking perfume?
by Omni | Perfumes & Brands
...My dogs still run away when the perfume bottle comes out, however I tell them that they shouldn't be in my bedroom anyway. I was wearing Musc Nomade until my husband observed me opening a replacement and said "This says, for Men" to which I replied "The perfume is the same in the feminine bottle or the masculine" whereupon he took great interest in said bottle and Musc Nomade has moved to his side of the dresser. He loves the stuff. Bast... Now I have to use my remaining stash of Apres L'Ondee.

...I bought a bottle of Ostara just before it was discontinued. It does have Hawthorn in the accord, but the Narcissus is prominent

Do you have a dog-walking perfume?
by Omni | Perfumes & Brands
...I quite like a soft skin scent on my wrists in the morning. Nuit Etoilee is nice, a bit of pine and mint. The dogs have to put up with my odour as long as I put up with theirs, and you know they aint always Fido Dog wash fresh

Tragedy. When perfumes turn
by Omni | Perfumes & Brands
...Flavorite, that's a bad scene. Milky Floaters. I'll be damned, never seen anything like that, it's bad enough to lose the thrill. And in spite of everything negative regarding perfume there's still that little thrill. My brother commented on my perfume when I was wearing Annick Goutal's Passion the other day. It's quite old and is still great, thank goodness

Blind Buys - Are you a risk taker? Best + Worst Experiences
by Omni | Perfumes & Brands
...I blind buy, heaps. I tell myself that $40.00 of my dollars buys a 100 ml bottle that would otherwise go on postage of samples. Within a few months my country is going to clamp down on customs free purchases, so I am making hay/coumarin while the sun shines. Yesterday I bought Heure Exquise in EDP for $80 NZD postage paid. I love No 19 and as I write the dry down of Cristalle emblazons the air, how could Heure Exquise be wrong?

Weekly Scent Discussion #4: Caron, your thoughts
by Omni | Perfumes & Brands
Carons
...Yes, Carons have skyrocketed in price. I have Pour un Homme, Yatagan and Aimez Moi at the present time but I have had a couple of the old timers in the past. Victoria Frolova has a comparative piece at Bois de Jasmin that is unmissable for anyone interested in pre and post reformulations. I layer Pour un Homme with Burberry Brit Rhythym, a combo that gives me great pleasure, but of course is heresy to the purists out there

How often do you add a new bottle to your collection?
by Omni | Parfumo Community
...After the thrill has gone. Yes, indeed, the more you have the longer it takes to go through them and Apicus is so right when he says that eventually you realise you have covered the bases and similarities become obvious. I buy about every six to eight weeks and have made a real effort to buy 30 ml bottles wherever possible. I'm still searching for that perfect Iris fragrance, when I'm sure I will stop.

Correlations between perfume and shoes
by Omni | Perfumes & Brands
...Well ladies and gentlemen I personally do not have a shoe habit. This is governed by two things, I am tall and in recent years I have suffered from plantar fasciitis (it's flat feet really) and I would sway horribly in anything but sensible shoes. Having said that I have a daughter who worships at the feet (haha) of those fancy shoe labels I know nothing of. I think I channeled my frustrated love of shoe leather into perfumes such as Kelly Caleche, the old Cabochard, and all things Cuir.
