According to my history in Parfumo - which I track very precisely: "Gris Dior / Gris Montaigne (Eau de Parfum) | Dior", "N°19 (Eau de Toilette) | Chanel", "Sandan / Sandalo (Perfume Oil) | Acampora" and "Bel Respiro (Eau de Parfum) | Chanel" top my list with equal number of wears. Makes sense because they're all part of my office rotation.

... Not necessarily a new year's resolution, but I want to reduce the size of my collection even further. The past year I have been following the "sell two, buy one" rule and the number of bottles in my collection went down from 100 to 40. I aim for a collection of 20 most precious gems by the end of the year.

MOONTRIPS well, I'm not new, have been on here for over a year, but there's something I've been wondering about and I thought I'd use this thread to ask! on profiles, I've noticed that people have this box where they have a lil blurb about themselves or whatever. I was wondering how one accesses that. I can't find it in settings... Hi Moontrips, On your profile page, there should be an option that says 'Update your status'. Whatever you type in there appears as a message box on your profile. I'll add a screen shot.

How did you get into fragrances?

... Suchel Before working at the Suchel Fragancia Company, I was handling cologne bottles and flavoring the talcum powder., which led me to love colognes, soaps and talcum. During that time, I dedicated myself to making essential Bonabel oils into cologne. We compared the cologne that came from Eastern Europe and in this way a fascinating world of fragrances began. Iconic Colognes of that time.. Crazy Rain , Hussar , Royal Chypre , Disco-Club . Beautiful memories. Hi @Suchel, Welcome to the Parfumo community. Out of curiosity, how did that diluting into a cologne work? You would need a formula or some sort to get the ratios right, I suppose. By the way, the perfumes you referred to are hard to find, but we do have some in our database. Feel free to write a review :) "Crazy Rain | Nóvaya Zaryá / Новая Заря"

... That we’re dealing with luxury items is a very valid point. Compared to necessities, there is little correlation to the cost of raw materials or even R&D and distribution costs. The price of luxury item correlates much more to what the consumer is willing to pay - which I suppose depends on prestige, trends and other irrational factors. If we were all rational consumers we would not buy a product with such a perverse price to value ratio and opt for cheapies and dupes. And certainly not more than one. So in the end I think consumer behavior is to blame just as much. Without demand, there would be no price increase.

No feedback on my perfume

... One time at work a coworker made a remark “it smells like nail polish in here”. Of course I proved myself innocent by showing my finger nails, all natural and clean. Coincidentally, that day I stopped wearing "Amber Cologne | Bortnikoff" to the office. I think that’s the closest I have ever been to receiving a comment, let alone a compliment.

... The fact that we are discussing individual notes/accords is a trend in itself. A few decades ago many perfumes consisted of an endless list of ingredients blended into a fuzzy harmony where single notes did not stand out. Now it is a time of hyperrealistic notes and extreme note clarity.

... I can recommend "Feuilles de Tabac | Miller Harris" from Miller Harris for a realistic tobacco leaf. Dry, brittle and cigar-like. Spiced up with notes of pine, pimento and vetiver. Quite different from the sweet tobacco infusio ns that are common nowadays. Oh, and Aramis "Havana (Eau de Toilette) | Aramis" is a great one too.

Is there such thing as signature fragrance?

... A signature scent doesn't necessarily mean you have to wear it day in day out, I think. It may very well be a perfume that you feel most comfortable with or one that you only pull out on the moments that make a difference. Personally I have a few of those in my collection. But they change as rapidly as my taste in perfume does.

How much time do you take before you post a review?

... Perfumes are all about leaving a 'first impression', so I think it is perfectly fine to put those in writing. I don't see why you should wait until your nose has fully adapted to the fragrance and all those surprises of the first wear are long lost. Also I think there is not one review that grasps the fragrance in all its aspects as every opinion is completely subjective. It is the variety of impressions and experiences of different people that provides the most insight. So please just jot down whatever impression the perfume gives you and never delete a review again :)

... Hi @Davomco and welcome to Parfumo! Indeed the tracker is very useful. You can find it when you open the Assistant menu. I'll add a screen shot of where to find that. The tracker does require input from your side before it is useful. That means that you need to add perfumes to your collection and tag them as "wearing today" on a regular basis. I'll add another screen shot for that. Have fun! ✌
