3 year old 40 Knots lost all of its marine salty notes

... +1 on the feeling, I have a sample of "40 Knots | Xerjoff" and I could never see it as a marine/ breezy scent. I just get mainly ambery and some woody accords, no saltiness whtasoever, still good but I wouldnt wear it on high heat 🤔

Self replying to my almost 1 year old post now lol but ive got some new ones now, "Santal 33 (Eau de Parfum) | Le Labo" This one smells like straight up one of those car fresheners with the sort of chemical aspect, I would never spray that on my skin. "Odyssey Mandarin Sky | Armaf" awful awful non descript overbearing sweetness, probably among the only ones that I really cant stand at all "La Bomba | Carolina Herrera" smells like if you left a bag of sorted fruity candies to melt and then added some vanilla to it, overbearing sweetness and tartiness "Eros Flame | Versace" I used to rock this one when I first started on the hobby but the overall drydown I just cant enjoy anymore, it almost clings to you with its vanilla and ambery claws

I find it interesting and sort of amusing that there are like 100s of scents that I never experienced because either they were released before I was born or I wasnt in the hobby yet, so I ask, what are your favourite ones! Mine is probably "Miss Dior Chérie (2005) (Eau de Parfum) | Dior" that a family member gifted me a small shoping mall sample from 2005

... I do relate to you that I dont like many soapy scents, but you should really try if you didnt, "Amber pour Homme (Eau de Toilette) | Prada" , superb scent thats also an office scent in my opinion, and it has some twists that makes it interesting.

I started my collection and journey as most , by getting a simple mass appealing blue frag, that was "Versace pour Homme Dylan Blue (Eau de Toilette) | Versace" , but as the years go by i've became more inclined to somewhat less sweet and more old-school like scents or profiles that are a little less common in the mainstream. My 2 latest favourite additions are "Antaeus (Eau de Toilette) | Chanel" and "Égoïste (Eau de Toilette) | Chanel" , 2 amazing fragances for me but they could be considered old timey so to say

Like the tittle says, im looking for recomendations to make my room smell like a hotel, that sort of clean and sort of comforting scent when you arrive in a hotel room, usually it has a sort of not soapy scent but another clean one that I cant describe well. I really never bought ambient and room scents, any reccomendations welcome!

Cheapies / Mid-Priced Fragrances that are unusual ?

... I wouldn't know much about indie brands, but the most peculiar one I tried because I didnt expect it was "Toy Boy | Moschino" , is REALLY heavy on rose, something thats unusual for male targeted scents in the occident. Another one would be "Colors de Benetton Man Black | Benetton" , the first time I smelled it it made me recoil. Its oud for 14 dollars

Its me once again asking for recommendations, more specifically im looking for something that can supply my need for "For Him (Eau de Toilette) | Narciso Rodriguez" , that is described as a wet concrete and greish scent, or "Greyland | Montale" that even has grey in its name, dry and serious as the descriptions say, Ideally sort of daily driverish, as I want to sort of variate more my daily wears as I've been using "Versace pour Homme Dylan Blue (Eau de Toilette) | Versace" or "L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme (Eau de Toilette) | Issey Miyake" most days for pretty much more than a year now. ... The reviews I value the most and that I usually write are the ones detailing the sort of evolution and notes compared to the advertised ones and the sort of timeline of wearing the scent. I do like the more prosey-like reviews but when I'm going to buy something I like to read the more objectives ones.

... I've been posting since february and never introduced myself either. I've been in the hobby since 2022, when I had a lot of time to kill in a duty free and realized that I really liked pinpointing differences between scents, and that scents carry memories better than anything. Asides from that I'm a guitar player and really enjoy the analysis of music and concepts, so at least in that regard the sort of subjective + artistic critic its really similar to my thought proccess when smelling and reviewing scents . I look forward to getting to know the community better than I do already! 😄
