hello!  my name is Desiree.  i used to spend some good time over on the OTHER (oddly political) fragrance website...but i'm so happy that parfumo is here!  i feel like it wasn't before, at least not all usable and whatnot like it is now...?  it's going to take me a while to get up and running over here, i think.  but it'll be fun to re-review some of my favorites and anything new that comes into my "collection."  i'm not really into collecting, but more so curating; if i could, i would shrink my fragrances to 4 or 5.  anyway, hello!!  and bye bye fragrantica ✌🏻

Looks like I have been posting for some time and never introduced myself.

My name is Ivo, from Portugal. I've been addicted to perfumes since I remember. I used to "steal" my mother's perfumes when I was a kid since I felt they were much more complex than the "man" perfumes my father used to wear. Curiously my aunt (mother's sister) has been working in a perfume shop for more than 20 years and I know I will always get something new on my birthday or Christmas.

Lately I've been discovering a lot through decants I bought from the community here. Hopefully I will keep getting new ones.

I’m passionate about fragrances and love how a single scent can instantly transport you to a distant memory or a special moment in time. To me, fragrances are like little stories: they can stir emotions, bring back forgotten places, and even connect people through shared experiences. There’s something so magical about how an invisible trail of scent can bridge the past and present, weaving together memories that words sometimes can’t capture. 🥰

Personally, I’m especially drawn to powdery fragrances. There’s just something so soft and comforting about them.

I've been posting since february and never introduced myself either. I've been in the hobby since 2022, when I had a lot of time to kill in a duty free and realized that I really liked pinpointing differences between scents, and that scents carry memories better than anything. 

Asides from that I'm a guitar player and really enjoy the analysis of music and concepts, so at least in that regard the sort of subjective + artistic critic its really similar to my thought proccess when smelling and reviewing scents . I look forward to getting to know the community better than I do already! 😄

Hi all! My name is Conor and I work in STEM research, living in the UK but with family ties to Hong Kong. Being neurodivergent (autism), I'm more sensitive to scents than your "average person" - I can't stay in a Lush store for longer than about a minute, haha. Growing up, I always thought that fragrance were all overwhelming and not for me, but it turns out that my family just all liked to bathe in scent 😆 (still trying to convince my mum that she doesn't need >10 sprays...). Discovering scents has been a really interesting journey over the last few yeras, glad to have found a community to share it here!

I'm Tim(47) and live in Oregon working in the medical field from home.  I live with my partner of five years and together we have two dogs, three cats and a dozen fish between a salt water and fresh water aquarium.

I started collecting colognes as a hobby starting five years ago and have about a hundred bottles.  I'm pacing myself at adding them so that I don't have my fridge open too much at one time.

I like finding dupes, layering perfumes and sharing my interest in fragrance with my youngest sister, who is also a fragrance fanatic and has similar tastes to me.

I am Sandra from Paris. I created an account on Parfumo years ago and I didn’t even remember I had.

I am getting more active here as I used to be quite active on another website that has decreased drastically in quality recently. So far I am really happy about the site.

I have been in that scented hobby for the last 4-5 years. I own about 120-150 fragrances but I am decluttering as I have realised that I own many fragrances that I don’t use. Since getting my bottle of Féminité du Bois Eau de Parfum I feel more satiated and I don’t feel the need to own that many bottle.

My favourite houses are Serge Lutens and Guerlain.

Hey peoples. My name’s Travis and I’m a family man who loves green scents. I think of my perfume drawer not as a collection, but as a curated representation of who I am in scent form. It’s become a meaningful form of self expression that adds a lot to my day. I think of my perfume bottles like a classroom full of friends each with a different personality, and I pick one or two to bring with me to work, or whatever. I blind buy on eBay mostly, and sell bottles to friends if I think they’re good, but not interesting enough to keep. I have successfully kept my collection of full bottle options below 20. I love Parfumo because fragrantica is dogged by ads and politics. It’s a cluttered mess like facebook has been for a long time. Parfumo is sleek and unpretentious. Thanks for being here! 

Hi everyone! I'm Jenny from Sweden. I have always had a very sensitive nose which has caused me both dread and happiness. When I was a kid I tried to make my own perfume out of flowers and water. Have loved perfumes for as long as I can remember. Another thing I love is order and structure, I have been cataloging my collection of books, records, movies, clothes, stuffed animals and so on all throughout my childhood. In adult life I have mostly been wanting to find a good place to keep track of my perfumes and I think I have found that here 😀

I'm new but I reviewed quite a few scents and posted some posts already, so I think I should introduce myself at this point 😀

Name's Val (they/he), I'm a computational biologist (career-wise), and a perfume aficionado (hobby-wise).

I'm 30, and I live in Vienna, Austria (but originally I'm from Bashkortostan).

I am actually very sensitive to many smells, sounds, and textures, so I never thought I would discover a passion for perfumes 😅 In fact, the vast majority of popular and designer fragrances always gave me massive migraines, so for most of my life I just assumed perfumery was not for me.

But two years ago, something prompted me to buy a dupe of "Silver Mountain Water" by Creed (scent number 300 by the Essence Vault), which got me interested in citrus scents. Then I moved on to "your skin-but-better" scents. I had a Master's student at the time who wore perfumes, and she recommended that I try Commodity scents. So I did. This is how my journey into niche brands began 🖤 I never looked back.

This summer, things between perfumes and me got real serious when I discovered Fishersund by stumbling upon their shop (I was walking around Reykjavik while I was there for a conference). I fell in love! 🖤

This new obsession had quickly snowballed into a full blown hyperfixation, and before I knew it, I owned a collection of samples, and even several bottles of niche perfumes. I had discovered I actually preferred darker and heavier perfumes, and moved on from citrus and skin-like scents.

I initially created a profile on the *other* website, but once I learned about the owners and their bigotry, I left and searched for alternatives.

And now I'm here, and I am very happy with the community here, people are nice and serious about perfumes. I respect that. 👍🏻

I've been into perfumes since 2022. My gateway into it was working at ulta as a beauty advisor and using my discount to buy perfumes... and now im here, slowly building a collection even if I no longer work there. 

I really like sweet girly scents- bonus points if its in a pink bottle! My faves are Sweet Tooth, and Yum boujee marshmallow. 

Hi! I’m Scarlett. 31, writer/poet/esthetician. Been into fragrance since I was sixteen, took a little break between ‘19-‘24 when the Dark Times(TM) hit psychologically, and am now working on finding what’s left in my collection amongst my moving boxes and adding some new finds to it as well. I’ve always gravitated toward musky scents, white florals, and summery scents, but as my tastes are changing, I’m branching out into more gourmands and fruity florals too. I’m learning to enjoy the little things in life again, and having a nice little fragrance wardrobe is one I miss a lot! 

Current faves are Lattafa Her Confession, Boy Smells Doll Skin mist, and Juliette Has a Gun Lady Vengeance.

Hi everyone! I'm Jules from Sweden and I'm in my 30s. I've been around here since the beginning of 2025 but I never really introduced myself.

I started collecting perfumes in 2024 and I've been on a scent journey for quite a while. So far I've found out that I prefer woody, unisex perfumes with citrus or smoky notes. I started out as a gourmand girl and since then my nose has changed. Palo santo, incense, patchouli, benzoin, herbs and citrus is my jam.

My current favorites are Not A Perfume by Juliette Has A Gun, Karma by Lush, a couple by Jo Malone (Wood Sage & Sea Salt, English Pear & Sweet Pea, Lime Basil & Mandarin).

I'm fairly new to parfumo - I've had a "silent account" for a while.
For the last four years I've been active on fragrantica under the name Poudery - I've posted a bunch of reviews there, but now it's time for brighter shores!

Growing up, I got into contact with perfumes early on, because my mom worked in the industry. She wore a different perfume nearly every day. Of course she had her favorites, but she loved exploring new things. For me, perfume became inextricably woven into love and life. Sure, as a child I'd sometimes wrinkle my nose at certain scents, but I think the experience opened my senses and helped appreciate some more complex compositions from a young age.

I believe perfumes can do a lot of things: supporting or setting a mood, add a touch of luxury, act as a shield of confidence, or offer comfort in difficult situations. They can help unwind after a long day or enhance a celebration. Perfumes are an expression of style, a gateway to nostalgic memories, and every so often a conversation opener.

I'm happy to be here, and I look forward to exchanging thoughts with fellow enthusiasts! 😊

Hi everyone, I’m Jaqb!

I wanted to say hello and share how I ended up here. Just a year ago, my "collection" was simple: Bleu de Chanel, Dior Sauvage, and Montblanc Explorer. I thought I was set for life.

But then, I smelled Guerlain L’Homme Idéal EDP for the first time. It was a complete epiphany. That single scent opened a door I didn’t even know existed.

Fast forward 12 months, and I’ve fallen deep down the rabbit hole. Today, I own over 100 bottles (definitely too many!) and more than 200 decants. I never expected to discover a brand-new passion after turning 40, but it’s been an incredible year. Beyond the amazing scents, I’ve met wonderful people who share this obsession.
