Fancy a green summer fragrance? Green Cactus.
Green Cactus is a really great, green summer fragrance. I have to say I like it more and more.
If you're really into green summer fragrances, then this is a must-have. You get a great mix of green herbs and slightly citrusy, tangy elements here.

The fragrance also starts off green. You have a lime here, which brings a nice citrusy and tangy facet with it and you also have a pleasant fig and general herbal notes.
Over time, I even have the feeling that I'm smelling something along the lines of dill and cucumber. Quite crazy. But that's not meant in a negative way! It actually comes across really nicely. I really like it! Otherwise, you have the green tea and some mint here.
I even notice the pepper note a little more as time goes on. But it's very finely incorporated and, for me, harmonizes perfectly with these green impressions.

Towards the end, it becomes very, very slightly woody. It becomes a little "rougher", but without becoming really rough. This green facet, which runs like a red thread through the fragrance, is still present.

Beautiful thing!
You have to like green fragrances.
The name really fits perfectly here.
The fragrance lasts around seven hours on my skin, which is really good for a summer fragrance!
In addition, the fragrance is definitely unisex in my eyes.

Fresh, green and unagitatedly special
Green Cactus reminded me of Torino 21 the first time I sprayed it. This is probably due to the mint, which clearly comes through in the opening. Nevertheless, the fragrance quickly goes in a different direction. The fig brings in a creamy, almost velvety note. Compared to Torino 21, Green Cactus is not quite as cool, but not heavy either. The musk is much more restrained.

What particularly struck me was the green tea note. It brings in something tart that reminds me of Eau de Memo by Memo Paris. This gives the fragrance a more elegant frame.

The projection is really good. The fragrance is clearly perceptible but remains pleasantly subtle. The citrus notes are fresh, but not sour. They give the fragrance brightness without being loud.

At the very beginning, I briefly had the thought that it could tilt a little towards toilet stone. But that quickly subsides. After that, it leaves the feeling of a high-quality body lotion. Very clean, very clear, very wearable.

Green Cactus shows its real strength in the drydown. The fragrance becomes more complex, more structured than Torino 21. The green prickly pear remains clearly noticeable and gives the whole thing an interesting finish.

Conclusion:
Green Cactus is a fresh, green fragrance that is very wearable, modern and, thanks to the combination of mint, green tea and fig, unusual enough to stand out but never unpleasantly intrusive.

The impression after the long-term test will follow.

Summery green freshness
I recently received a message from Phil Julian asking if I would like to test his new fragrance Green Cactus. Of course I couldn't say no to this great concept. I had already heard about this idea when he told me about his first release Fovere, which also went down really well and received a lot of good reviews. The first release was dedicated to his hometown Heidelberg, this one is a tribute to Gran Canaria. Green Cactus also has the same initials as this great vacation spot. The concept with fig, cactus and aloe vera also fits in with this great place. I was very curious as these notes are rather rare on the market and how they smell as a whole. I'm less of a fan of green fragrances, but I love fresh, green, citrusy, invigorating summer fragrances that have that certain something with those great vacation vibes. With this great fragrance I can already say: The great pyramid is confirmed and meets my taste like the Fovere. It's a successful scent and not one of many fragrance twins, but quite independent. The fig makes it a little reminiscent of Fico di Amalfi, but not on a fragrance twin basis. The notes here are unique so that you don't have the feeling that you've smelled it 1000 times.

The perfumer is once again the good Christian Carbonnel. This good gentleman has a knack for many niche releases and he uses many lively notes and he also has a great signature. Here, however, the idea is also really good from the brand owner with this concept.
The bottle is the same shape again, here of course in matching green. Very pretty with this lid. What I don't like about this fragrance as much as the Fovere is that it is only available in 50ml. This adds up to a price of almost 340€ for 100ml, which is quite steep. It would be cool if there could be something along the lines of other niche brands in the future, which would result in a better ml price. I prefer 100ml or even more, especially with fresh fragrances, as I wear them up and down and spray them on a little more than heavier fragrances.
After 3-4 tests, I can say that I have tested this fragrance extensively and I can form an opinion. I was curious to see how the notes dominate and are weighted. For me, the fig and prickly pear notes are very dominant and provide this juicy green experience with this great vacation DNA, which has this great southern European touch. These great citrusy notes of lime, bergamot and some exotic yuzu also come through. A great freshness kick that has invigorating vibes. Great green-fresh notes then follow in the heart note, including quite creative rare notes such as aloe vera. This note also comes through quite well here and is also quite niche due to its rarity. Green tea and mint also cool down well and can withstand very hot temperatures. This cactus note and thus the main theme of this fragrance is also clearly perceptible. The spice of cardamom and pepper is very minimal and is not unnecessarily complicated here. The base is woody and also slightly creamy. Amber, musk and labdanum do this well and it is anything but heavy. Rather a great light-warm sensual base with that great clean musky DNA that Carbonnel always manages to pull off well. Plus a great cedarwood note with classic patchouli. Very unique and a great drydown that rounds off this fragrance well. All in all, a great harmonious unisex fragrance that goes with the whole process, especially in warmth and heat. I like these vacation vibes with the cooling green-citric freshness.
I think the performance is much better than rated here. I got about 10 hours of longevity in today's test and the radiance was top for a fresh fragrance. Worth it if you want performance. Has good staying power and this pleasant freshness lasts a long time.

Overall, once again a really strong fragrance that I enjoyed testing. As I said, a larger bottle with a good ml price would be cool. As you usually spray more with fresh fragrances, it would be worth it. For the current summer, however, the 50ml would be a worthwhile option.

MY little green cactus...
There it is, THE fig scent that suits me and enchants me... Phil's second fragrance is a direct hit for me in two and three ways. A citrusy fig fragrance that doesn't repel me but... thrilled! (To clarify: I don't have a slight aversion to fig in perfumes!)

for me, "Green Cactus" has what it takes to be a summer bestseller and an over-hit like a few really big perfume names in this community (i.e. "Aventus" or "Elysium"). And it is not directly comparable to any other perfume - which will make some people's hearts sink after the first scent ("Fovere") from the house! for me, "Green Cactus" strikes an amazing balance of cactus milk, sun tingling, citrus cocktail and teatime. A spectacular summer fragrance. An ode to Gran Canaria that is more than just advertising or marketing. Mediterranean green done right. It fizzes, it soothes, it has style but also fun. Never too stiff, never too showery, never interchangeable. Always high-quality, always with that special kick and icing on the cake. As I said, this could become a real summer banger and hyped fragrance. But it doesn't just appeal to the young, it has the characteristics of an all-time all-pleaser. It's a top 100 fragrance. Delicious, fresh, clean. I am blown away!

Flacon: green, simple, practical
Sillage: sparkling aura
Longevity: very solid 6-8 hours

Conclusion: indescribably green and sunny radiant... Gran Canaria's great fragrance cinema!
