Sun cream meets garden herbs
I discovered the three fragrances of the Vallense brand via a traveling letter.
First of all, I would like to say that I was very impressed by the brand, all three fragrances are very niche and creative for me, so for me a "brand to watch", I'm curious to see what else comes out of it. Source is an oud fragrance, but it increasingly transforms into a skin-flattering, spicy honey scent (even though no honey is specified as a note). And Spirit is a green, spicy newcomer.
But now Sun: It starts with a somewhat catchy sun cream fragrance DNA, creamy yellow flowers set the tone, frangipani, ylang-ylang, with tropical-fruity notes mixed in. Beautifully crafted, catchy, very creamy. But there is also a spicy, herbaceous, green side. I read basil, celery, to be honest. I spontaneously conjure up images of a garden in Tuscany where my husband and I went on vacation a few years ago. We had a huge terrace of an agriturismo just for us, facing the kitchen garden, where the landlord cultivated the herbs and vegetables, which were then turned into delicious, simple dishes in the evening. Jasmine bushes and other beguiling flowers also bloomed in the garden. During the day we spent time on the beach, and in the evening we sat on our terrace and enjoyed the smells of this garden.
This memory of the day at the beach and the evening in the garden evokes Sun for me. As the fragrance progresses, it becomes softer and more harmonious, the herbaceous notes mingle with the creamy flowers and the sweet grassy base lingers on the skin for a long time.
This fragrance will not stay with me, but it has brought me back to a beautiful experience. It reminds me of the warmth of the Italian sun and transports me to a happy place. It's nice that a fragrance can do that! The longevity and silage are quite remarkable, and the price point of €225 for 100 ml is not particularly modest.

From summery exoticism to boredom
Expecting a classic citrusy, fresh summer fragrance, I sprayed Sun on the back of my hand on a warm spring day and was surprised at first. I hadn't expected a fragrance like this! The fragrance starts with a soft but beautifully fruity passion fruit, with a touch of basil and ginger. I also get a very unusual green, grassy note that evokes the association of a sultry summer day.
I was really impressed by the opening, as it wasn't just another well-known summer fragrance that was recreated, but something new was really thought through and there was a lot to discover.
But then the shortcoming...
After about 1.5 hours, the passion fruit unfortunately recedes almost completely, and the other notes that I liked so much become more restrained and flowers and boredom take over. The special something that the fragrance had in the opening has unfortunately disappeared and does not return until the end...

All in all, however, Sun is a really interesting summer fragrance that you should definitely try.

Green sun
I tested a bottling of this fragrance as part of a traveling letter. After spraying it on, I was a little confused at first. In my opinion, the fragrance starts off very green and herbaceous and then becomes a little more floral. After a while, I find it very light and citrusy, which was actually to be expected at the beginning in the top note. Maybe my nose was playing tricks on me. In any case, I find the fragrance very pleasant. You can hardly smell any individual fragrance notes. However, there is a green and striking note that runs through it. This is probably lady's grass, which, according to my research, has similarities to woodruff and makes the fragrance very special. If you like fresh, green fragrances, you've come to the right place. Unfortunately, the longevity is not so good and the fragrance quickly becomes skin-deep.

Do not wash it off! It "still needs to breathe"
In the beginning, the tuberose struck me down... with a blunt object. Sticky sweet, it clung to the back of my hand. I was about to wash the fragrance off when I took one last goodbye sniff and suddenly noticed a creamy, floral, feel-good composition. The fragrance progression remains quite linear, which never bothers me personally if I like it. It's a shame that it doesn't last very long!
