Bouquet of white flowers adorned with citrus
Received a mini bottle of 4ml as a GWP with a Sephora order. I have mostly passed over Aerin as a perfume brand because only the full bottles are sold at Sephora and their website doesn't ship to Canada (EDIT: I've recently discovered they're sold at Holt Renfrew which has renewed my interest in this brand). Nonetheless, I was quite curious to test out this lovely perfume.
At first spray, we're greeted by a lovely assortment of grapefruits and citrus. It's evoking light, breezy and warm, but comfortable temperatures. Grapefruit stood out on my skin, while the mandarin orange and the bergamot offered a pleasant tinge of zesty fruitiness. After a few minutes the white flowers unfurl, offering a green, fresh floral accord that almost borders on the indolic side without ever going over. Honeysuckle is the star contender, but I also felt the jasmine giving off a slight powdery scent. The blend of green and fresh accords is really amazing and invigorating. It's delicate, feminine and beautiful for warm weather. It's a perfume you can overspray without hesitation as it won't choke out other people. It's also a fragrance you'll want to wear when you just feel like smelling good without putting in too much thought: an effortless sort of scent. It dries down into a lovely clean skin-scent that's perfect for inoffensive settings. It finally fades slowly away, leaving nothing but a clean delicate veil of florals.
If it wasn't for the price and the sillage I'd be adding a full bottle as soon as I can. Unfortunately, 180$ CAN for a 50ml is way too pricey in my opinion. The scent stays way too close to my skin, I could barely smell it: I had to pull my wrist close to my nose to catch it after about 20 minutes. At this price, I expected a bigger sillage than a skin scent. Nonetheless, it's a great floral & citrus perfume that's great for spring and summer time. Feminine-leaning because of the white florals, but seriously it can be worn by anybody! I'll be cherishing what I have until it's empty!
EDIT: I managed to snag an amazing deal on Estée Lauder (a full sized 50ml bottle, a travel size 10ml and a mini size with a beautiful bag for 133.25$CAN) which is why it has finally made its way into my collection.
