Hiking on a warm day in a beautiful flower field
Today I would like to introduce Mediterranean Honeysuckle by Aerin. A fragrance which, due to its English name, certainly makes you think of sweet honey. But this is not necessarily wrong, because Honeysuckle is not called "Honeysuckle" for nothing, because the sweet scent of this plant actually reminds of honey. From the appearance these plants (as an umbrella term for all honeysuckle species) are called here in Germany but also as hedge cherries, of which one should rather not nibble, since some are weakly poisonous and also should have no aroma at all (from the specially cultivated hedge cherries, the May berries, apart from that, ... great, now they are suddenly also called berries ... argh that's complicated! :D).

Hmm... somehow botany is quite interesting, I should perhaps deal more with it. I don't have to become the biggest botanist on the planet like Matt Damon in the movie "The Martian" (who is also the only person on Mars and thus actually the biggest botanist there :D), but a little more knowledge about plants wouldn't hurt. Yes, I think I'll start by learning how to distinguish flowers from trees or something like that :DD

Anyway, here comes the description of the fragrance!

The fragrance:
The fragrance begins quite fresh with sparkling grapefruits that smell authentic and great. In addition to bergamot I also smell mandarins as a further citric note, from which one can smell the slightly bitter inner shell more. Flowery notes appear, but are still weak, so you can't determine them yet, well, not me anyway.
After the flowery notes get a little more intense, I think I can smell the gardenias out of them best first, because the other flowery notes should actually smell sweeter and the scent is not really sweet yet, but still citric and green with a very light clean note that comes across a little soapy.
But a little later the scent slowly becomes sweeter, I smell the lily of the valley, which together with the jasmine gives the scent a nice, tender sweetness. You can still smell the citrus notes, which is great and keeps the fragrance fresh and loose.
Only in the later basis the citrus smells disappear gradually, so that the smell remains then for the most part flowery with a not very high sweetness. Then I also find the flowery notes a little bit stuffy, but not for running away stuffy :D
Hmm... I haven't heard a Honigartige sweetness now by the way, since the sweetness came as I said from the Jasmin and from the lily of the valley. I think the honeysuckle here with this scent has just here rather tangy/herbaceous and green scented.

The Sillage and the shelf life:
The Sillage is slightly above average, so that the fragrance will smell good on you for a short while if you are not too far away from others.
The shelf life is very good, you can smell the scent for eight to ten hours.

The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular with bevelled corners so that it is actually octagonal. On the front you can see a white label with a golden frame, and also the name of the fragrance is written in golden letters there. The lower part of the lid is gold-plated. The upper part of the lid looks like polished stone in azure blue colour, making the lid a real eye-catcher. All in all a very nice bottle.

Ah, this scent has become really beautiful! He radiates a nice aura, which simply provides for satisfaction. It is reminiscent of beautiful meadows and flower fields, where you can walk past or walk in spring and summer, relax and enjoy the colourful nature, which may even make you feel a little happier. Nearby are lemon trees, whose citric fruits glow yellow like the sun from far away. If you are lucky enough to see beautiful butterflies buzzing around, which are more welcome insects besides all the mosquitoes (which also appear in spring), then the day is actually perfect.

Yes, this fragrance reminds me of such things and also creates a cheerful atmosphere. Therefore, Mediterranean Honeysuckle is in my opinion a great and beautiful women's fragrance, which is especially suitable for the day or leisure time and which I would recommend to every woman here to try it or make a note of it for the next spring and summer! It could be worth it :)

If you are looking for honeysuckle you will find it somewhere else
For example, Annick Goutal's Chevrefeuille. Otherwise, the fragrance is what I usually call "freshly washed". However, in the category of "freshly washed" I prefer others, for example, Acqua Universalis.

The scent is perfectly fine, but I keep looking for interesting honeysuckle fragrances

Bouquet of white flowers adorned with citrus
Received a mini bottle of 4ml as a GWP with a Sephora order. I have mostly passed over Aerin as a perfume brand because only the full bottles are sold at Sephora and their website doesn't ship to Canada (EDIT: I've recently discovered they're sold at Holt Renfrew which has renewed my interest in this brand). Nonetheless, I was quite curious to test out this lovely perfume.

At first spray, we're greeted by a lovely assortment of grapefruits and citrus. It's evoking light, breezy and warm, but comfortable temperatures. Grapefruit stood out on my skin, while the mandarin orange and the bergamot offered a pleasant tinge of zesty fruitiness. After a few minutes the white flowers unfurl, offering a green, fresh floral accord that almost borders on the indolic side without ever going over. Honeysuckle is the star contender, but I also felt the jasmine giving off a slight powdery scent. The blend of green and fresh accords is really amazing and invigorating. It's delicate, feminine and beautiful for warm weather. It's a perfume you can overspray without hesitation as it won't choke out other people. It's also a fragrance you'll want to wear when you just feel like smelling good without putting in too much thought: an effortless sort of scent. It dries down into a lovely clean skin-scent that's perfect for inoffensive settings. It finally fades slowly away, leaving nothing but a clean delicate veil of florals.

If it wasn't for the price and the sillage I'd be adding a full bottle as soon as I can. Unfortunately, 180$ CAN for a 50ml is way too pricey in my opinion. The scent stays way too close to my skin, I could barely smell it: I had to pull my wrist close to my nose to catch it after about 20 minutes. At this price, I expected a bigger sillage than a skin scent. Nonetheless, it's a great floral & citrus perfume that's great for spring and summer time. Feminine-leaning because of the white florals, but seriously it can be worn by anybody! I'll be cherishing what I have until it's empty!

EDIT: I managed to snag an amazing deal on Estée Lauder (a full sized 50ml bottle, a travel size 10ml and a mini size with a beautiful bag for 133.25$CAN) which is why it has finally made its way into my collection.

Floral Elegance
This fragrance exudes delicacy and lightness, enveloped in a floral composition with a subtle hint of powdery cleanliness. I detect notes of tangy citrus, the airy essence of white flowers, the peel of unripe pear. I also sense a subtle undertone of plastic throughout the lifespan of the fragrance.

While my childhood memories include the natural scent of honeysuckle, this fragrance fails to evoke that specific recollection.

Upon skin testing, it showed a duration of approximately 2 hours, yet its presence lingers on fabric for well over a day with a restrained and noble sillage.

While “Mediterranean Honeysuckle” by Aerin fails to find a place in my personal preference, Lanvin “Eclat d’Arpège” follows similar path, but feels fresher, more natural, slightly sweeter, and significantly more affordable. While not identical, both fall into the category of "don't know what to wear, want something simple, understandable, and pleasant." In my opinion, Honeysuckle doesn’t justify its price, perhaps only appealing for its aesthetically pleasing bottle rather than its content.

Despite my reservations, I believe this fragrance holds promise for those seeking a singular, delightful perfume in a beautiful, elegant bottle, gracing their shelf.

Complete floral
This perfume is all about flowers, the most prevalent one being honeysuckle. I would say it’s a summer scent. It is strong on me, and seems inappropriate for autumn or winter.
It smells of sunshine and fresh blooms missing about in the warm breeze. The longevity is several hours on me and sillage is outstanding.
Having said all of this, I don’t think it’s enough for me to purchase a large bottle of it, as I have others I reach for way more frequently. It’s definitely worth a try though!
