Blast From the Past
PHAT FARM ATMAN. Where to begin with this highly nostalgic relic? Well, back in the mid-2000s, this thing was EVERYWHERE; and since my everywhere at that time was High School, yes. It was all over that wretched place. Being that this was the time of Davidoff Coolwater, Versace Blue Jeans, and Abercrombie and Fitch Fierce (on the guys' side. Girls were most definitely drenched in Juicy Couture) , ATMAN stuck out like a sore thumb.
It wasn't fresh, aquatic, and playful. It was harsh, musky, leathery, and thankfully a bit citrusy. But most certainly adult. The "Axe" users would overspray this to the point of suffocation. Sure they did this with many other staples, but PHAT FARM ATMAN just wasn't that pleasant to begin with. It wasn't horrible, and I could see it fitting right in to my Grampa's wardrobe... but in first period English???
Boys in the mid 2000s were a strange breed. Between the socks-tucked baggy jeans and the lopsided flat-brim caps: they really managed to carve a historical niche for themselves.
PHAT FARM ATMAN merely added to their legacy.
