In the Flower Garden with a Cup of Tea
Initially, Eau des Orangers smells like the classic 4711, but that fades away almost completely after a few minutes. Then I can distinctly smell lilac and green tea, and a few minutes later, the orange blossom joins in. Until now, I haven't had the luck to experience a fragrance where lilac plays a more or less significant role that I like. This one I do like. The base notes give the fragrance depth and a certain longevity. Especially amber, in my opinion, is a fantastic base note. I also love the amber, for example, in Arancia Ambrata by Gritti, where it is, however, much stronger and more present than in the scent by Adopt. For me, all the fragrance notes blend well together, and individual notes are easily detectable. You don't often find that in very inexpensive fragrances (nor in expensive designer scents). In any case, that has been my experience. All in all, I see Eau des Orangers as a versatile, floral everyday fragrance without sweetness, which I think is great. It also has very slight green and bitter nuances. The eau is of rather lighter strength. I bought it blind and have not regretted it. At that price, it wouldn't have been a disaster if I hadn't liked it.
