Sci-fi citrusy solar flares
Arty sci-fi vibes. Solaris or Aniara with a dash of the sun obsessives in Danny Boyle's Sunshine.
It opens with a strong blast of citrus, heat, rum, and copper (sometimes I get a slight whiff of caramel corn). Despite its juicy ball-of-fire scent notes, Solis has an eeriness that conjures an uncanny feeling of being an astronaut flung into the loneliness of space and longing for memories of a warm day on earth. But you snap out of your daydreams and realize all you have is a distant, much less nurturing sun.
It's not an everyday scent, but I was immediately compelled to add it to my collection. Many people I've shared it with have a 'woah, this is amazing and unsettling' reaction. By its Parfumo rating, you can see that it is a very risky purchase. It can be wearable if your skin chemistry vibes with it and you don't spray too much (also make sure you're wearing it in the right setting). After a while the complicated notes settle into a more neutral metallic orange, but obviously if you want to try it, order a sample first.
I marked the sillage and longevity higher than some people might, as you have to be more careful with experimental frags and I find Solis to be very pervasive if it gets on your hair or clothes at all. Any more sillage than it has would be overwhelming.
The packaging isn't my favorite and was leaking a bit upon delivery.
