The fragrance starts with a citrus opening. Initially, the citrus bitterness of freshly cut bergamot peel dominates. Following this is a bathtub full of powdery notes and rich iris butter as an addition. All of this is generously drenched in neroli and orange blossoms. The citrus-fresh top note floats up and clears the way for fragrant waves of luxurious iris. It reigns on a clean musk bed with just a hint of sandalwood. The scent also brings a subtle touch of sweetness that reminds me of fresh orange slices.
It blows my mind how such a wonderful exuberant fragrance can be had for so few coins.
The scent strikes me as niche, mature, clean, and has an incredibly rich powderiness that is very rare in quality.
Such exuberantly powdery perfumes are rather scarce among designers. The only ones that come to mind are
Infusion d'Iris (2015) Eau de Parfum or "Iris de Syracuse | Boucheron," both of which are significantly more expensive.
Montale delivers with #intense so iris
a similarly beautiful powder scent with a slightly stronger citrus top note, more woodiness, and less floral and sweet. Therefore, Intense So Iris seems a touch more masculine than "Iris & Néroli | Jeanne en Provence."
Nevertheless, I believe that both fragrances can certainly be worn by any gender.
Do you know those women who seem to look effortlessly put-together every day? As if they have their whole life completely under control. Dressed in high-quality designer brands, whose logos you can't recognize because they are only printed on the textile label. The quality of the fabric reveals a careful selection of each piece of clothing worn, paired with a preference for understatement. Well-groomed and well-styled. This is exactly the impression I get from the perfume "Iris & Néroli | Jeanne en Provence." This scent can effortlessly compete with designer brands and perfumes from the high-priced niche segment. It is versatile and wearable in any situation. Seasonally, it is the perfect spring powder scent. The bergamot peel bitterness in the opening makes the fragrance unique for me. I had never encountered anything like it before. To me, this scent smells wonderfully elegant and mature without being too serious or cold. I can't get enough of this fragrance at the moment. This fresh-citrusy, creamy powderiness makes me addicted to smelling it on my wrist again and again.
I perceive the sillage as strong. I can clearly sense the fragrance while wearing it.
The longevity on my skin is around 7 hours, which is average.
I like the pleated glass bottle. It looks simple, understated, and chic.
The price-performance ratio is outstanding.
Not everyone will like this scent, as I suspect some may be bothered by the bitterness in the opening. Also, these strong powdery notes are not to everyone's taste. However, those who love powdery fragrances can certainly give this one a try.
