Straightforward, spicy rose scent with a forest factor
To be honest... I have come to appreciate rose. Not in the sweet way, layered with all sorts of gourmand notes. But rather "spicy," dark roses that have just enough sweetness to avoid being too harsh and "prickly," just a hint.
And this "Absolute Oriental" by Angel Schlesser ranks among fragrances like "La Fille de Berlin" by Lutens, "Rose Oudh" Laffatta, and similar ones.
Rich, pure, slightly bitter, very dark red, and a bit "woody".
In combination with fragrance notes derived from woods, roots, and grasses, the rose can be beautifully highlighted and create a wonderful contrast. "Patchouli & Rose," "Sandalwood & Rose," yes, even "Vetiver & Rose" are scents that have captivated me.
Here, I encounter sun-drenched rose fields near spicy-scented meadows and not far from cool, shady forests.
In terms of longevity, this fragrance is very good, and the sillage is moderately noticeable, which means I do not envelop my surroundings in a huge cloud of scent, but the fragrance is still perceptible from time to time.
