Shalimar Homophone
This fragrance, composed by the great Cécile Zaraokian, is often compared to Shalimar. And the comparisons start with the name. 2 homophone words: Kashnoir, Shalimar. right? Is almost they want us to notice that. But to be honest, after wearing them for some time, you will find more differences than similarities.

Despite the vanilla-bergamot combo, this is a completely different scent. A rose driven scent with more freshness to it. A bit tart and bitter in the opening, super fresh and refreshing, with some aromatics to make it unisex (I detect a shy orange blossom too) and, after 10-15min, the "pièce de résistance": A heliotrope note. I love heliotrope and this has a slightly Après L'Ondée Eau de Toilette vibe. Don't get me wrong, the don't smell similar, but you find the heliotrope with that "fresh-powdery almond" effect, as you find it on the Guerlain one.

Overall, a fresh rose scent with creamy-powdery-vanilla aura around. Super high quality and with a good price point. A good niche house btw. I find this brand very underrated but with some hits. This is one of them with good performance, very persistant but not super loud. A good bubble around you for 8-10h.

I like to wear it during spring time or fall, specially on sunny days, where this powdery rose shines.

A date tree in the desert!
If you look at the scent progression of Kashnoir, you could imagine many things as a fragrance impression. However, I was then surprised that this fragrance is to be classified for me absolutely in the oriental direction. Honestly, I hesitated for a long time to acquire this fragrance, because here my absolute fear opponent in the scent course appears and that is coriander. I find this scent component in a perfume just plain awful. Coriander simply belongs in the kitchen and not in a fragrant perfume.

Unfortunately, I must say at this point that the top note does not start very promising, as the coriander already more than dominantly pushes itself forward. This leaves the citrus notes and the lavender little room to develop. Fortunately, after about 30 minutes, the coriander moves to the background and Kashnoir becomes sweeter and gentler. The rose fights here bravely with heliotrope and vanilla, so as not to drive the fragrance too much in the tart direction, because there lurks still the coriander and also the patchouli with its earthy scent impression do not give up so quickly.

Although not listed in the scent history, remains for me the impression after many freshly picked dates that have fallen on the ground and are waiting to be picked up and eaten. That's the only advantage I can give the coriander here, it keeps the sugary sweetness in check and doesn't let this perfume degenerate into a calorie-laden dessert.

Verdict: Because I find this herbaceous undertone in Kashnoir to be very difficult, you should not make a blind purchase. Here you must first sniff a while and then decide whether you want to wear this fragrance composition. He holds at summer temperatures loosely 8 - 10 hours through.

Batman likes almonds?
Hello olfactory butts, welcome to a new fragrance commentary from me. Today I'm describing Kashnoir by Laboratorio Olfattivo. Kashnoir... sounds like Kashmir or a soft scent in general. And noir means black. Black as... Batman... bah, let's say black as night instead... in all the years I've been here, I just couldn't get you guys to like Batman, why should it be any different now? You guys are philistines to no end, with no sense of great stories with even greater characters... comics are a piece of cultural history, but no,... better stay ignorant and stupid... :DDD

Alright, let's get back to the scent. A fragrance that is supposed to be magical, well, that should be so true of many fragrances for sure, at least from the description. From the fragrance notes, the fragrance already sounds very great, with the exception of the coriander, which I really do not like. And to say it briefly with comic words: where the Joker is the arch enemy of Batman, the coriander is one of my arch enemies in the fragrance world,... brrr... this fragrance... bah, to run away, and you doofians love it for sure! :D

Okay okay, I think I've bitched around enough again today, so I might as well finally get to the scent description!

The scent:
Kashnoir starts off quite nicely. I smell citrusy notes wrapped in powdery scents and some lavender. The citrusy scents are bergamot and lemon, respectively, although I was still thinking grapefruit right when I sprayed it on. The powdery would have to come from the vanilla, which you can smell right now. Then there are the resins like benzoin, which make the scent seem particularly smooth. Soon you can also smell heliotrope, which smells very nice. You're wondering how I plant philistine know how this flower smells? :D Heh heh, heliotrope can be easily identified by the fact that its scent is a bit almondy, and I like almonds, so I was able to remember the scent of heliotrope quite well. But I still don't know what roses smell like... (that's a joke!! :D).
The heliotrope is getting more intense, so the scent is getting more almondy, but more importantly, sweeter, which smells really good.
Still a little later, I smell the heliotrope still pretty good, now it's also well mixed with vanilla and benzoin, which for me are quickly becoming the main scent notes of this fragrance here. Surprisingly, I smell the coriander quite little or he is covered by the nicer fragrance notes quite a lot, because I actually do not like coriander at all, he is even on my list of fragrance notes that I really can not stand, but here his scent is as I said rather low, so it does not bother me at all, even if he is already a little more intense in the base.
From the base you smell mainly continue vanilla, heliotrope and benzoin. Now, however, also comes a good smelling patchouli note to it, which gives the fragrance a somewhat earthy scent, which is a nice contrast to the otherwise quite sweet fragrance notes. There still seems to be some neroli in the background. At the very end, all that's left is the vanilla, which then radiates for hours. All in all, the fragrance then remains so also until the end and is thus very nice throughout.

The sillage and the durability:
The sillage is quite good and strong, you can smell the fragrance on you quite well even if you stand a bit further away. The durability is extremely good, because you can smell the fragrance even the next morning still good on the arm, although of course you can then only smell the vanilla.

The flacon:
The bottle is cylindrical and has a black tinted glass. Towards the neck, the bottle narrows a little and finishes with a black cylindrical lid. On the black label, you can see the name of the fragrance and the brand, with the brand name mirrored down once again. All a little simplistic, but still quite nice, especially as in my opinion the black tint enhances the bottle and makes it stand out from many, clear colourless bottles. However, there also seems to be a clear variant of the bottle, which also looks good, but I like it less than the black version.

Conclusion:
So, Kashnoir is a very nice fragrance that should appeal especially to those who like soft, sweet and powdery scents. However, I find that the fragrance could rather better suit the ladies, as it just comes across quite feminine. Yes yes, so delicious and so, you know what I mean :)

Due to its good durability and also good charisma, it is very suitable for evenings, so to go out, celebrate at parties and such things just. Suitable for all who want to look sweet and tasty :D
Especially in autumn and winter, because the fragrance works for me through all the sweet notes quite wintry, at least it would certainly be a bit oppressive on warm days.

Hm,... the fragrance would certainly also like Batman well,... on Catwoman for example, or on Poison Ivy, or Talia al Ghul (you banausen of course do not know), or Vicki Vale (you certainly also do not know, tssss...). I myself would love to spray the fragrance on Supergirl, hö hö... or on... oh I spare you another enumeration, the list would be endlessly long :D

Well, anyway, the fragrance is really worth a test. Well then, that's it again from me, have all a nice evening and until next time :)

Impressive performance - use with care - very linear.
There is a synthetic note that keeps me from an everyday use.
