From Boy to Man

If you want to be introduced to the world of noble and woody scents with a certain sweetness for the first time, you are in the right place.

For me, these were the first touchpoints with more mature fragrances.

You are led into the world of smoky and woody notes through the sweetness of the apple and the whiskey note.

It doesn't project very strongly and the longevity is okay. I find it perfect for jobs in enclosed spaces. It's rather too weak for the club. It's fine for a date as it's not too intrusive or overwhelming.

The bottle is super heavy and beautifully crafted. The cap fits on nicely and securely! Top!

I REALLY LIKE THE SCENT TODAY.

Whisky. Apple. Prick.
Animalic. Caramel.

Not a scent for the office - except at the distillery

With some fragrances, it's quite strange; they always evoke the same associations in very different people. Sometimes these are very inexpensive scents that emit an individual and pleasant aroma. Other times, they go in a direction that isn't for everyone. Ambre Oud starts with an alcoholic note, nicely labeled with a whiskey barrel accord. Two types of fruit have fallen into this barrel, and that's how it smells. Especially the beginning is brutal. So I thought I’d jot down a few points about what you shouldn't do with this perfume:

- Drive a car and get pulled over by the police
- Show up at work in the morning if you are known as the colleague who enjoys alcohol
- Encounter a good client during the day with a suspicious-looking drink in front of you
- Give presentations/talks and get nervously tongue-tied more often
- Attend your children's school performance (this also applies to parent-teacher meetings)
- Appear on the soccer field early in the morning (unless you’re playing yourself and it’s a local league B/C, then the opposite applies)
- Family visits (depending, sometimes better not)
- Meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous
- Events of faiths where alcohol is frowned upon
- Job interviews or salary negotiations
Yes, quite a list, but that's due to the projection of this scent. On the skin, it smells much more harmless, actually more like Oud. Leather can also be detected in the aftertaste. Overall, it’s a perfume that makes a powerful statement. The longevity isn't great, but the sillage makes people stagger and slur 30 meters away easily. I also like to use it to get my wife drunk (just kidding. She already knows it).
Ambre Oud is heavy, it’s also somewhat sweet and straightforward. The scent doesn’t unfold dramatically; it becomes softer through the amber. I can also imagine oak moss, as Ambre Oud never overheats despite its contents and heaviness. Due to its characteristics, it is best worn in the evening to wind down the day while sitting in the garden with a good glass in hand, watching the sun set. I can empirically confirm this and can only agree with my predecessors. This could also be an expensive niche.

It was a blind buy I truly regret. Strong, old fashioned and nauseating. None of my colleagues or friends had anything nice to say.
