~ Whiskey & Cider ~
~ This scent is best worn watching the fall leaves change colors with a glass of whiskey spiked apple cider in hand from your front deck. While inside the aroma of sweet sugar cookies bake and the smokey cinders from a fireplace linger in the air you would have the image that Ambre evokes. Very masculine and warm she will want to nuzzle closely on those cool autumn days with Ambre's gentlemanly sillage in the air and cozy amber on your neck.
Kind Regards, Plat ~

Headache in a bottle.
First I want to say I have never been a fan of amber, but I wanted to try a Baldessarini fragrance, and Ambré was the only one available on the website where I shop. Plus, it features an apple note, which I like. My first impression is it smells like some kind of cola. Not unpleasant, but definitely cola-scented. Apple-amber cola. If it weren’t for the apple and mandarin orange top notes, and possibly the violet middle note, it wouldn’t appeal to me at all. I can see why people like Ambré, but it really isn’t my type of fragrance. Strong amber scents give me a headache. The apple note is nice, but for me, Ambré is a headache in a bottle.

A big disappointment!
A monolithic bottle as I like them… Minimal, refined and beveled!
And that’s it!
An opening on a red and crunchy apple barely ripe, zested by a tonic mandarin.
If, the note of whiskey is represented in the olfactory pyramid, it is a young and lively whiskey (neither malted nor peaty). Dry !

Then, a note of leather appears; that of a leather so light that one can see through it. There, I could say: it is a real work of binder, shoemaker, with excellent mastery to produce such leather? Well no! As for the note of violet? A very synthetic facet!

Finally, the base notes, a mixture of dry, powdery and soapy notes.
Neither oak, nor vanilla, nor even cistus.
No texture, no body.
A soapy amber.
Zero tenacity! Like that of a shower gel. A trail so discreet, like that of a soap.
A perfume that has the soul of.... a rinse water.

That being said, the price is very reasonable. It can very well suit young men in the making!

Transitional Coat
... is pretty much the first association that comes to my mind with this fragrance. Admittedly ... even while I’m writing this, I’m wondering if this headline truly does justice to the actual class of this scent.
I’m considering ... would I even contemplate such a term for a more expensive fragrance from a supposedly more renowned house, or would it keep me restless and I might ponder for so long until I found a term that sounds “smarter”?
I almost suspect yes ... one always somewhat succumbs to the impression of a product, which subconsciously creeps in through external influences.
With perfume, this ranges from myths and legends about the respective fragrance houses, through a feigned exclusivity, to inflated prices that ideally one only wants to justify to oneself, or sometimes even has to.
Hats off to those who can consistently free themselves from this. It’s no trivial matter.

Ambré ... this more or less light green number 7 here has a tough time.
When I first smelled it a few years ago, I liked it right away, but it quickly fell back into oblivion.
One read a lot about other fragrances here ... more bling-bling here, better performance there, and somewhat disillusioned, one rummaged through various decants and samples of the supposedly better, more exalted scent (gems) and often found more appearance than reality.
Recently, summer was already on the dry ground of the home stretch, and thoughts began to turn to the upcoming season. I came across the sample and although it had been shamefully neglected for so long, I knew ... it would be good!
The small decant was packed into my gym bag, and after physical exercise and a sauna session were checked off, I sprayed generously.
That very evening, the decision was made quite quickly that I had to buy the fragrance. I knew it would be a relatively inexpensive endeavor, but when I tossed the 30ML into the cart for a cheeky, around 12 euros, a sense of indignation rose within me.
Figuratively speaking, I felt the urge to stand defensively in front of the fragrance and, unsolicited, to defend this scent to whomever, pointing out that Ambré is easily worth three times that and I would be willing to pay that price.
However, since I’m not a saint either, I still threw it into the cart at the cheapest provider and, with a head towel (great thing for longer hair!), pushed the cart just over the 20 euro mark to just cover the shipping costs. A fox must do what a fox must do ...

This fragrance has the potential to become my daily driver in the fall. Phrases that one likes to write in this context. The truth is, however, that rarely does a fragrance get worn for more than 2 consecutive days.
If this happens weekly, then we’re talking about a weekly driver from my perspective.

An aromatic charmer that can be worn at any time of day. More understatement than loudmouth.
Top note is good, the assertively entering base even better.
Apple, normally not my thing (sympathetic glance towards PDM), softly cushioned by a moderate sweetness that takes the scratchiness away from the orchard fruit.
It should be noted with goodwill that the alcoholic note only outlines a thin frame.
Also pleasing ... not necessarily common in this price range, is the clearly noticeable leather note from the heart and the violet that I appreciate in small doses.
With increasing wear time, it becomes difficult to distinguish the individual components. But that doesn’t matter at all, as the scent impression remains pleasant until the soft fade-out.

An underrated men’s fragrance with a valuable aura that likes to be reapplied at noon and requires a certain confidence.
Whether that is achieved in one’s mid-20s or 10 years later must be decided on a case-by-case basis.

Still considering changing the headline, I’ll leave it as it is now and convince myself that I can justify it with authenticity.

Boss Bottled Christmas Edition Winter Night Le Parfum Intense Eau Extrême
Ambré is an Eau de Toilette from the Baldessarini house, the premium brand of Hugo Boss, and falls into the gourmand category. It is characterized by its sweet, oriental, fruity, woody, and vanilla notes. The fragrance is excellent as a men's scent, but for me, it is clearly unisex. It fits best in autumn and winter; you can still wear it in spring, but it is already quite sweet. The affiliation with the Boss group is immediately noticeable in Ambré, as the typical synthetic apple note found in Bottled is unmistakable here. Overall, it strikes me as a gourmand, more mature version of Boss Bottled.

Ambré lives up to its name, as this fragrance revolves around amber and vanilla, both of which come across as smoky and very sweet, unfortunately almost sticky. Additionally, there is a liqueur note running through the scent. It is certainly not pure whiskey, more like Southern Comfort, a whiskey liqueur with orange, peach, vanilla, and cinnamon, also very sweet. The top note smells primarily of the ubiquitous vanilla and the liqueur, especially the Boss apple accord. In the heart note, the apple recedes. Instead, I smell orange, mandarin, and cinnamon, along with a bit of leather and a hint of powder. In the base note, vanilla and amber are most prominent. There are also woody notes. The Southern Comfort transforms towards the end into more of an amaretto, so I also catch a whiff of an almond accord. The scent then slowly fades out, very vanilla-like and sweet.

The longevity is only mediocre for a gourmand, lasting up to 6 hours, as is the sillage, which is quite close to the body. However, I perceive Ambré very clearly and positively on myself. I find the bottle, like almost all bottles from Baldessarini, well-designed, perhaps a bit monotonous, but very high-quality in its craftsmanship. Especially the metal cap and the solid glass feel great.

Overall, Ambré is significantly better than its reputation and rating here. I highly recommend this fragrance to anyone who likes Boss Bottled. You get a winter-sweet version of the best-seller. By the way, the fragrance is very, very affordable online. I paid just under 30 euros for my 90 ml. For comparison: At Douglas, it costs 65 euros.

Nice amber scent with sweet liquor. In the same ballpark of Boss Bottled but less complex. Poor performance unfortunately.

Whiskyledrig with beautiful apple and amber.
Everything made in a test tube.
But I have to admit it's very well done.
If synthetic, then like this..*

An Apple in a spray keeps the Parfumos away?
Nope. It's alright!
On a whisky-leather-violet-biscuit
this apple dresses more ambry than woody.

Niche quality: boozy notes of Apple Jack with vanilla bean, warmed wood, lots of leather, masculine-aromatic. Should swap prices with Kilian.

Totally underrated. Whiskey & leather or in other words - a smoky Boss Bottled.
Now one of my favorite winter fragrances.

Warm, a bit dark, a bit oriental, not too overpowering. At least the best I've tested from Baldessarini so far.
