Shake loose!
This is a very interesting perfume. Beyoncé's perfumes are usually very heavy and this is one of them but very mature. A lot of people say that smells like coffee, I would have to agree with them, but it is really powdery. It opens up with a very sweet but yet citrusy and also very powdery, also you get kind of like a basil tea in it. Then we go to the heart. The orchid makes it more woodier almost but, also yet sweet. We go to the base, which has some vetiver in it. And that vetiver dominates the whole base. It is almost like a men's cologne, but also has a feminine quality to it. A very sexy sent. Great job Beyonce! Keep on making great fragrances! ????

Rise and shine
Bergamot. Ok, a staple of perfumery since forever, for good reason. The opening is bright, juicy and sunny; not too sweet for me, and basil cuts the juiciness just so it becomes a fresh herbal smoothie on the veranda in the morning sun. I am not a fan of how the apricot in the opening seems to interact with freesia (I think?), but the transition from the opening to the heart is smooth and creamy, just a tad soapy and powdery. I have no idea what a ”gold symphony orchid” is supposed to smell like, but overall the powdery floral accord is well done, if a bit generic. I am not that familiar with Beyoncé’s previous releases, except that I remember liking Pulse NYC, so I will refrain from making comparisons. The drydown is sober and mature: I get something woodsy-vetivery and musky after the florals start to subside. Yes. good.

To put it simply, Rise smells good. Not the most adventurous of perfumes, either in concept or content, but a solid performance from a juice that is already available for pocket change from online discounters, weeks after its launch (it’s how I got mine to test). As fruity florals and celebrity frags go, it’s as good a pick as any other, maybe even better than most; it’s great fun, sweet and carefree, but also grown up. My only real complaint is the cap, which is both fugly and inconvenient. I wish I could just replace it with something less tacky, preferably made of metal.

Even if nobody expects a celebrity fragrance to carve niches in perfumery, I do kind of wonder about Rise. An artist with Beyoncé’s star power could surely have taken more of a risk with the perfume and gone for something more exciting and potentially polarizing. As it is, Rise plays it safe and stays firmly in well-charted olfactory territory.

Quality fragrance, just not for me
I bought Rise and initially I didn't like it. The opening stage is nice. It doesn't smell like any of the modern perfumes out there but has a nostalgic feel to it, like something that I've smelled in my youth. It also has a bit more presence than most designer and celebrity fragrances which are generally a little too soft and watery for my taste.

The opening is a mix of apricot, bergamot and jasmine. The sillage is moderate, but it does turn into a skin scent after just a few hours. Longevity-wise I wish it was a bit better.

Once it has dried down it smells like a mix of woody notes, musk and a little hint of basil. I don't care much for it in this stage. The opening is really the best part for me. It's good for rainy fall days and in a way it is very comforting. This is not a true like though because of the basenotes during the drydown, too woody and musky for me.

Caution, Risk of Crash or Here She Wears the Pants
The rather unusual bottle encouraged me to test it. So far, no fragrance from Beyoncé has convinced me. They were often very sweet and do not match my taste.
The fragrance pyramid seems to hold some surprises. I can't avoid testing it.

The scent is supposed to reflect the strength, beauty, and self-confidence of women. Rise is meant to encourage women to be all that they want to be. The heart of the perfume is again the orchid, the singer's favorite flower. This is said to be the queen of orchids and to give the fragrance an extremely sensual note. Additionally, the scent is supposed to be more intimate and natural than its predecessors.

Rise doesn't start off too badly. Zesty and energetic, refreshing, fruity, and a bit green. The synthetic notes are bearable; there are definitely worse ones. The apricot shows itself in a gentle and non-scratchy way, while basil and bergamot provide an interesting, green freshness. Not too bad at all.
The transition to the heart note is a bit bumpy. Here, the scent becomes rather skinny, sweet, and lovely. A bit creamy, pleasantly floral, and feminine. I don't know how the aforementioned orchid is supposed to smell. The blossoms don't seem extravagant. Nothing innovative, but it doesn't hurt anyone and gives a well-groomed and feminine impression.

But that's where the feminine side ends. Quite harshly, vetiver punches through and clumsily destroys the delicate and unexcited floral symphony. A very distinct and masculine facet of the fragrance. It now reminds me a lot of aftershave and the kind of men's scent that I definitely do not want to perceive in the tram in the morning. Too woody, spicy, wannabe masculine. Just exaggerated. It really shakes me up. Rise increasingly leans towards men's perfume, which I dislike. Subtly, a hint of jasmine flashes through every now and then, but that can't save the scent anymore. Even my beloved musk seems to enhance the masculine-animalistic character. It remains scratchy, masculine, woody, herbaceous, and spicy. Unfortunately, I don't feel comfortable with this perfume. I don't see myself in it.

One thing I must give Rise: it definitely comes across as self-confident. Moreover, it does not fit in with the other numerous fruity-sweet-floral star scents. It has its own character. Full of vigor and individuality. At least in this price range. Furthermore, it really distinguishes itself from its predecessors and takes a new direction. However, one must like the strong vetiver note, the masculine-woody undertones, and this hint of aftershave.

Longevity and sillage are surprisingly good and only slowly diminish. The unusual scent remains present for several hours and does not smell as artificial as initially suspected. A fragrance for every occasion. I would be very interested to see how it performs in summer. A second test will definitely follow. The scent will probably not appeal to the usual audience. So it's more for adult women.

Although I would not wear or buy Rise myself, I don't think it's bad, just a bit too specific. It's nice that at least the concept seems to work here. In my opinion, it's a scent for strong and independent women who like to wield the scepter openly. Far from the otherwise refined, feminine manipulation.

Rise - The Rise in the Unisex Market from the Drugstore
I became aware of Rise through Mandelmaus and tested it before finally purchasing it. When I first applied it, I must say, I was not overwhelmed with good feelings, but that changed quickly.
I spent an entire day in the city with my girlfriend, always surrounded by Rise, which I liked more and more with each passing minute. It has something masculine about it, yet it also emphasizes femininity by gently settling on the skin and being very close to the body. It is neither loud nor shrill, but it is different. Somehow, there is something flowing with it when it touches the skin. Something I can't quite describe. So as a layperson, definitely not. Nevertheless, I perceive a hint of beautiful apricot and the somewhat dominant vetiver. Very spicy, also with an animalistic touch, Rise is for me. I can't make much of the pyramid itself; I only convey my feelings about this scent here. These are overwhelming. I like things that are different, that present themselves differently, and above all, smell different. But different is relative. Still, it stands out from the usual celebrity fragrances, as it is not even remotely as sweet. I would rather say it is more smoky than powdery. Although the powderiness, after the spice recedes a bit, also presents itself quite dominantly.
I find this scent suitable for both men and women. It holds well on my fiancé, and he likes it just as much as I do.
He was surprised that this is supposed to be a celebrity scent, as he said it was very beautiful and had that certain something.

It lasts a full 8 hours on me. For an average celebrity scent, this is fabulous. The price is also not high, and I am always delighted when I apply it. I get a feeling that I feel secure and strong, as it underscores personality and projects it outwardly in a dominant way. However, it doesn't suffocate anyone, as it doesn't jump out at you.

It resonates with the crowd but stands out a bit.

A rise in the unisex market for pocket money from Müller or DM.
I particularly like it with casual, chic clothing, as I feel most comfortable in that. My transitional jacket carries an indescribably beautiful scent with it and draws many noses and glances towards me. In the few days I have had it, I have received quite a few compliments and the question: What is that?

Well, what it is, everyone must find out for themselves. For me, it is that certain something. A weirdo in the industry. Certainly also quickly an outsider. Because not everyone likes this type of scent.

Spicy fresh start, floral, and then cozy warm and elegant at the end. The only thing cheap here is the price. Too bad it has to go now!

A fragrance family with "Allure (Eau de Parfum)" and "Dune (Eau de Toilette)", dry, spicy, warm. I'm really liking it lately!

Confident, slightly spicy, woody, subtly sweet - perfect for autumn. Average longevity. Good price-performance ratio.

The only star fragrance in my collection, but I just had to have it. Beautifully warm and slightly sweet. More of a fall scent.

The scent is strange. Sometimes I hate it and sometimes I like it. I really like the woody spice, but not the top note - it smells like it's half gone.

So nothing unisex here, too bad the jasmine really hits me hard. Still, a well-made celebrity scent for a low price. Worth a try!!!!
