golden brown

narcissus, dry grasses & resins. the sweetness is very tame on my skin until later in the drydown where it emerges softly - not overwhelming. it has a bit of a 'tang' initially that i associate with maybe the ylang or the mentioned notes of 'blossom nectar', but not in an unpleasant way. quite linear, becoming gradually more ambery & slightly powdery as it dries. i don't personally pick up on anything leathery. the narcissus remains the star throughout. i can sense similarities to angelos olfactives - 'narkissos' & also to other hiram green perfumes, especially 'philtre' with the spices and resins. not the biggest projection / sillage but it is intense close to the skin.

An Odd Yellow Floral

This is one of the most unique fragrances I've tested. It starts out heady with the narcissus, nectar, and Ylang-ylang - tangy and a little sweet. I like it more once it starts to settle and a little spice starts coming through. I can't pinpoint the tobacco in this, but I think it's what contributes to the spiciness. The leather is what made this strange because it isn't a rustic leather (or suede) I usually enjoy in fragrances, but more like highly processed leather; almost tar-like. It does make sense considering this fragrance was partly inspired by 1980s fashion, though. I can't say I love this, but I find it to be well blended and interesting. Overall it's a warm and bright floral that may be best suited for those who like yellow florals in particular - along with a little strangeness with that leather note.

Entering a new autumn with old glory

Hiram Green's Ultra radiates amber tones reminiscent of autumn. Warm notes such as wonderful resin combined with narcissus, nectar, and ylang-ylang dominate, while dry tobacco and hay lend a certain experience and age.

Balance is created by neroli and jasmine, which prevent the fragrance from becoming too linear in a simple amber direction. Over time, leather is added, accompanying the fragrance until it dries down.

The fragrance remains traditional and somehow familiar. It doesn't completely reinvent the wheel. For me, it's perfect for cold, rainy days spent enjoying time at home or at someone else's house. I like it with a book, a good movie, a game night, or just cooking. It brightens the mood and accompanies you into the beginning of fall. It should definitely be suitable for winter as well.

The price is on the high side, but I have a lot of fun with the fragrance. It fits perfectly with the current times, and the golden tones smell good and just look great in the bottle.
