Shower Steam
Here I am testing my first Biotherm fragrance (for women). The scent is supposed to be citrusy, which I already like, as I enjoy this fragrance direction (something my cat cannot claim…).
The first impression is already good, but somehow it also smells a bit like the steam in the bathroom after a lady has bathed, with the scent of the shower gel still lingering in the air.
The scent:
It starts off citrusy sweet, although none of the listed fragrance notes are really strong. You can smell more of a light breeze of mandarin and blood orange. The blackcurrant is even weaker and hardly noticeable. The top note reminds me of showers, as mentioned above, but this is not meant negatively, as it smells good.
In the heart note, you can detect the typical floral-sweet rose scent and the lily of the valley.
Later, the fragrance becomes softer and gentler, with the citrus notes receding a bit to make way for the sweet amber and musk, both of which are quite faint. The woods are hardly detectable. Nevertheless, the base is warm and should appeal to many.
The longevity and sillage:
Since I mentioned a shower gel in the introduction, I can refer back to that comparison. And yes, the longevity is indeed very short and clings only slightly, similar to a shower gel, where you smell good after the shower, but this scent fades away after 1-2 hours. The sillage is unfortunately just as low. Additionally, the fragrance becomes softer and gentler after the citrus notes, thus becoming even weaker.
The bottle:
The bottle also resembles a (expensive) shower gel. But it is beautifully designed. The bottle is elongated in height, white, and has a nice motif on it. The upper part and the cap are chrome-plated.
Vanessa Bruno is a lovely fragrance for women that initially smells like a well-made shower gel, is quite refreshing due to the citrus notes, and becomes softer and warmer in the end. I can imagine that many women might like it, but one must be clear that this fragrance only radiates for oneself. Because the scent is too passive and will probably not be perceived by many, or one will smell as if just coming out of the shower.
I think this fresh-warm fragrance is actually well-suited for when one (woman…) simply wants to feel comfortable at home. Furthermore, it could be good as a "goodnight fragrance," as there are indeed perfumes that one can spray a bit on before sleeping, making it cozier to travel into the land of dreams…
