Typical Brooklyn Soap honest clear scent

I treated myself to the fragrance set from Brooklyn Soap and am now testing one scent after another in order to possibly decide on one or more scents later. The scent of vetiver, an Asian grass whose root is presumably used to extract the fragrance, is not for me. It smells like freshly mown Italian herbs and grasses; I realize that I generally don't connect well with herbal scents. But for those who enjoy herbs and vetiver, this is definitely for them.

Barbershop in a Bottle

What can I say? The description "Barbershop in a Bottle" hits the nail on the head. A scent that is not too extreme as one might imagine the feeling after a barbershop visit, yet is very unique.

I wear this fragrance outside of summer - preferably in autumn/winter - and it personally gives me the "freshness" I have when I leave the barbershop.

The scent is refreshingly woody. It is well noticeable and does not leave the penetrating scent cloud one might expect from a barbershop.

Modern Sicilian on the Go

"Italian Vetiver" is a new fragrance creation by Mark Buxton for "Brooklyn Soap Company" and a scent that I have had the pleasure of testing extensively over the past few weeks.
Basically, I really like the BSC label - classic men's grooming philosophy meets the modern hipster, and yet everything - from the razor to the shaving soap - is very high quality, well marketed, and (of course!) sustainable.
The classic fragrance line around "The Woods" from 2015 was expanded in 2021 with a more modern, citrusy, and fresher line - this includes the EdP "Italian Vetiver".

Accordingly, the opening of the fragrance is outstanding - pronounced rhubarb, neroli, and pepper are real eye-catchers - not absolutely unique, but characterful and balanced, as well as light, citrusy, and floral (perhaps due to marigold?)

After just a few minutes, the true barbershop character of the fragrance emerges. The musk - shaving soap is fundamentally Italian and represents one of the most exciting aspects of the perfume. The classic gentleman meets the young male generation, thanks to the musk (which always has a rather sweet character for me).
Imagine: Sicilian café in the morning, espresso, fine pastries, accompanied by the scent of basil, old antique wood, and fine soap.
Overall, it is very wearable during the day, and due to the barbershop character, it is also great for early mornings. Therefore, it is clearly recommended as an office scent or an upscale everyday fragrance - definitely out of place for parties or clubs.

There is a significant deduction in points for longevity and sillage, although the projection is acceptable.
After just 4 hours, I can hardly perceive it anymore. Perhaps they wanted to avoid a bombastic longevity due to the shaving soap theme, yet the scent is too short-lived on the skin - especially as an EdP.

The bottle is very classic and takes no risks regarding "conservative men's grooming." However, the labeling (also customizable) and the crisp, coherent text about the perfume are nice touches.
