A Sunny Iris

This is a very pretty fragrance. I wasn't sure how mimosa and iris would work together, as it seemed like a very unusual combination, but I am surprised to find that they complement each other very well. The mimosa starts out sweet, but the green notes and bergamot keep the sweetness in check. Then iris joins the mix, adding a lightly powdery, clean facet. I love the addition of violet leaf in fragrances, finding it adds a lovely garden-fresh dimension whenever used. It is no different here, giving this fragrance a freshness that's not typical of iris dominant perfumes. This is not the usual powdery iris fragrance with the obligatory vanilla note, so if you expect that you may be disappointed here. While I like those Iris fragrances too, this is very different. It's bright, light, and crisp and has an upbeat quality about it. Performance wise, I get excellent silage and longevity. Not beast mode, but I was aware of it most of the day. While this is a strong like right now, it has potential to become a love.

Truly an incredibly beautiful, gentle, soft, and tender iris scent.
I was sure I owned all the great iris perfumes in my collection. Wrong thought, this enchanting iris is so beautiful that I immediately ordered a bottle.

The great thing about this iris is that it doesn't come off as dusty-dry, but rather lovely.
It gently hugs the skin, without anything scratchy or even dark.
You can smell the iris very well and almost nothing else. Probably the raspberry gives this slight sweetness. But it doesn't come off as cloying; instead, it perfectly supports the delicacy.

I cannot perceive sandalwood or vetiver.
The tonka bean is also present only to a small extent, probably just to make the scent a bit more lasting. Since the iris flower or iris root cannot be harvested in the first year of life, this makes iris perfumes very expensive, but this price here is, in my opinion, very acceptable.

It's worth testing, but I warn of extremely strong addiction potential.

Wa wa wa Wum!!

Thanks to a dear friend who recently showered me with a bunch of fragrance samples, I am currently enjoying the luxury of testing a new little indulgence every day. Today it was "Splendida - Iris d'Or".

I had not yet had the pleasure of experiencing Bvlgari, so I was all the more curious about this noble drop.
A spritz here, a spritz there..., eyes closed..., cautiously inhaled... INSANE! What a fragrance! Enchanting, intoxicating, sublime, liquid gold. It is truly the perfect scent for a proud aristocrat with plenty of charm and heart, made for the nobility. Absurdly, it still did not feel out of place on me in my simple T-shirt/jeans combo. It felt more like this fragrance had elevated me from my bourgeois status for a fraction of a second and ennobled me. Pure decadence, but with so much soul.
I was easily swept away and succumbed to the temptation of holding my nose close to my pulse to inhale the captivating scent...
Wa wa wa Wum!! As if I had run into a wall or plunged into the depths of an abyss filled with sweet, heavy blooms and warm, soft aromas that instantly buried me. For the next 20 minutes, my head throbbed as if struck by an olfactory sledgehammer. Stupid curiosity!
I decided to keep some distance, tilting my nose slightly upward while sniffing to increase the distance from the scented skin areas. This made it much more bearable, and immediately this slightly diva-like fragrance regained its magic and allure, starting its siren song once more! But I had learned my lesson, knowing now that the temptress bites when you press too hard, so I kept my nose respectfully at a distance from then on.
And then it finally became clear to me why the nobility must often be so haughty! For with a nose held high, "Splendida - Iris d'Or" is one of the most beautiful perfumes I have encountered so far!

Competition Within Its Own Ranks

The Spendida line is truly successful!
First, I was captivated by Jasmin Noir - then I started eyeing Rose Rose.
Bulgari is creating competition within its own ranks.
Now, I am enveloped by the lush Iris d`Or.

Yes, I find it to be the most substantial of the three - suitable for evenings and the "big appearance."

In the theater or concert hall, it will certainly make a good impression.
But it's better to book a box, as the sillage is not to be underestimated.

The bitter violet leaf is clearly present, delicately accompanied by fruity raspberry.
I can't detect any sweetness.
Iris - and mimosa absolute deepen the bitter tone - but remain creamy.
This might be due to the sandalwood, and tonka also has soft curves.
Vetiver grounds the elegant fragrance - with a tendency towards heaviness.

During the day, I wouldn't wear the "golden iris" - it's too full-bodied and significant for that.
Even simple clothing is not its domain - evening attire must be pressed for it.

That's why I keep an eye on Rose Rose, as it is more suitable for everyday wear - just like Jasmin Noir.

But when the patent leather shoes are polished, it can be Iris d`Or.

shimmering iris - seductively enveloping!

Anyone who, like me, loves "Bvlgari pour Femme" will welcome this new radiant-elegant family member with open arms.
After encountering "Bvlgari Splendida Iris d'Or," I naturally had to try it. And the longer our acquaintance lasts, the more enamored I become.

After a delicate yet intensely fragrant introduction - there was no skimping on Heliotrope here - a heart of perfect beauty unfolds: Iris and Mimosa shine brilliantly against each other!
If both weren't pleasantly muted by their inherent bitterness, it would almost be too much of a good thing!
Because here, they really went all out and didn't hold back!
Sandalwood, Tonka bean, and Vetiver complete an elegant women's fragrance!
Only exquisite ingredients were chosen, thus splendidly "dressing up" the classic "Bvlgari pour Femme." The goldsmiths send their regards.

In my opinion, "Bvlgari Splendida Iris d'Or" is a typical Italian; a rich golden veil that makes the woman it envelops beautiful and desirable.
A fragrance for "Le Donne sotto le Stelle"! (Even without the Spanish Steps.)

Whether it will become a classic like "Bvlgari pour Femme" remains to be seen. In any case, the "golden iris" is going on my wish list.
